Very excited to share the Version of Record of our first eLife Sciences Publications, Ltd. paper https://lnkd.in/ew3F2jMd In this work we show through extensive sampling by MD and ESI-MS how glycosylation of the SARS-CoV-2 S RBD at N343 works in concert with the protein structure to modulate binding to co-receptors. We show how and why this glycosylation site becomes progressively dispensable due to mutations in specific VoCs, and thus displaceable through viral evolution. Phenomenal work by Callum Ives and Linh Nguyen and all 👏 showing a great example of synergy between simulations and experiments. Great experience with the eLife publication model, which I strongly recommend to everyone looking for a breath of fresh air! You can follow the whole reviewing process in the link above. Any questions, we'll be more than happy to answer. Happy reading! #glycotime

... Cool study ... "Glycoimpact" (structure templates sugars, modulates biological function), or?

Thanks for sharing! Which software did you use to get these renderings?
