⭐ Reflecting on an inspiring day at the AEO Association of Event Organisers Conference 2024! 🤝 Key players in the events industry converged at Manchester Central to explore the future of events, share insights, and learn and share ideas with peers. Here are my key takeaways: 🚀 Growth Mindset with Dr A-Marie I. I loved her approach of building a learning tribe to learn together. 🌐 Future-Proofing Your Workforce with SONIA BATE delving into company culture. I could have listened to Sonia all day! This is so relevant to New Scientist Live with so many sectors such as engineering, aviation, space and agriculture etc all having skills shortages. 🔥 Fireside Chat: Turning event failures into lessons. Industry veterans Greg Hitchen (Terrapinn), Andrew Reed (William Reed Business Media Ltd), and Laura Biggs (Intuitive Events Ltd) candidly discussed their biggest failures and successes. Resilience and refining event strategies were the focus of this very engaging and humourous session. 🍷 It wasn't just about the content though, it was about connecting with peers. Super duper event open to the public if you're curious about the compost/compostables collaboration going on across the industry. Sometimes we can't see the multitude of solutions until we connect in larger spaces about it. When we take the time to connect on the common thread, perhaps something truly special and new will arise? That's what I am aiming for, anyway. At the very least, we all want compost to be a circular, regenerative, earth-giving practice that everyone can easily access and enjoy! This has been part of a 12 workshop year-long process. There's a long road to go before the system is FULLY setup. At a local lens, you will see how the compost process, system, network, emerging on-site compost tech, and the humans who operate them are the most magical thing on Earth.
