Loyalty System - it's a personal opinion Do you have a loyalty system in place that rewards your customers for shopping with you? 90% of businesses do from a recent article I was reading. This figure shocked me as I certainly don’t have a wallet bursting with loyalty cards. I do agree there are many out there, and there are some strong pros and cons to consider before taking that step. They work, but to what level of success you have depends on many things. How do you and your staff look at the reward. I have seen it where the card is on the counter in front of the customer and the staff don’t ask the customer if they have one, whilst processing their order, and I rarely hear customers being offered to take one. I have seen them offered the card, but don’t explain the benefits, this is prime time for promoting the value. At times owners and staff seem genuinely frustrated that the customer is using their freebie, instead of thanking them for being a loyal customer. It is important if you have a loyalty system in place you educate your staff on how they work, the rewards and how to motivate your customers to earn them. Instead of wasting money on new clients you are rewarding existing clients, who hopefully will return to you next time instead of heading into the more convenient bakery. A good loyalty system will come up at social events, sporting events and dinner parties, so ensure you give this a thought and be mindful of choosing something that will not affect your profit margin too much but will enhance customer loyalty. Here are three elements to consider with your loyalty program. 1. Cash Value 2. Choice of Redemption 3. Convenience Simplicity is important, you don’t want to have a sophisticated program, that often gets it wrong, and doesn’t calculate correctly, or is offline at times, which can make it harder for your staff to explain, as well as do more for distrust amongst your customers than loyalty. #loyalty #customers #bakery #franchisee #franchise #riseupbakerycoaching #bakeryowner
