🔬 Curious about the latest advancements in sequencing accuracy? 🔬 Our team has redefined sequencing accuracy on the Element AVITI™ System, surpassing traditional standards and pushing the boundaries of precision. 🎯 Key Findings: 🔹 Traditionally, sequencing accuracy has been gauged by %Q30, representing data exceeding a 99.9% accuracy threshold. 🔹 We've achieved over 70% Q50 (99.999% accuracy) data on the AVITI system, showcasing a significant leap forward in precision. 🔹 This remarkable level of accuracy opens new doors for applications such as identifying low-frequency alleles and enhancing reference genomes. Our success wasn't just about improving sequencing quality. We've also tackled challenges in library preparation errors and analysis artifacts, ensuring robust and reliable results. I’m happy to announce the publication of a new paper from the H2020 BovReg EU project, where I had the opportunity to contribute as a co-author. This collaborative effort resulted in the development of an innovative bioinformatics pipeline using Nextflow with DSL2 syntax for detecting expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL). As the volume of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data continues to grow, orchestrating bioinformatic workflows has become increasingly complex. Our pipeline addresses these challenges, facilitating efficient collaboration among various partners involved in eQTL studies. Based on pilot data tests, the new pipeline is designed for large-scale analyses, ensuring the sharing of computational resources and overcoming data access limitations. I’m excited about the potential impact this work could have on future eQTL studies! https://lnkd.in/dpYQPTrZ #Bioinformatics #NGS #Nextflow #eQTL #Genomics #BovReg #H2020

🚨 New publication co-authored by Lygature: "Sharing sensitive data in life sciences: An overview of centralised and federated approaches," published in Oxford Journals Briefings in #Bioinformatics The paper is the outcome of a workshop organised by Lygature under the EOSC-Life project. Commenting on the new publication, Lygature Program Manager and co-author, Jan-Willem Boiten said: "Central repositories for data sharing in European research face challenges, especially with sensitive health data. Federated approaches, where data remains at the source, are increasingly preferred. Our paper discusses the key considerations for choosing between central, federated, or hybrid data storage strategies for large-scale European collaborations." 📖 Read the paper here 👉 https://lnkd.in/d5NbeXfM ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network), BBMRI-ERIC, EATRIS, ERINHA, Istituto Mario Negri, Health Data Hub, European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI, EBRAINS, eCREAM, ISIDORe, Ilse Custers, Rick van Nuland
