This International Women’s Day the Women & Girls team at AFL Victoria are supporting the 2024 theme of 'Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress' by highlighting exactly how we are investing and supporting women, girls and gender-diverse people in Victorian leagues and clubs in 2024. It's about more than the chance to play - we are investing on and off the field to create more opportunities for women, girls and gender-diverse people to progress as players, coaches, officials and leaders. https://lnkd.in/gXjtBT3R

A driving belief behind my decision to found From Now On was that sport can be a vehicle for a more inclusive and sustainable society, beyond the field or court. Leadership though, begins from within. This IWD I encourage sport leaders to commit and take action to change the systems, structures and behaviours within your sphere of incluence. (And then perhaps eat a delicious cupcake because... cupcakes...) #IWD2024 #genderequality #sportsleadership
"It is time to stop trying to change women and start changing the systems that prevent them from achieving their potential." - Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General. We wholeheartedly agree. So this International Women's Day, why not forget the cupcakes and instead make a commitment and take action to build a more inclusive sporting community, so that women and other underrepresented groups can soar without constraint. Everyone wins from inclusion. Reach out today to find out how we can help you influence attitudes and behaviours to help make your sport or organisation a place where everyone belongs. #IWD2024 #GenderEquality #ChangeTheSystem #LevellingtheDeck

Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress. Women’s economic empowerment is central to a gender equal world. When women are given equal opportunities to earn, learn and lead – entire communities thrive. Based on the priority theme for the United Nations 68th Commission on the Status of Women, Count Her In will examine the pathways to greater economic inclusion for women and girls everywhere. We must ensure women and girls are given equal opportunity to build their capabilities and strengthen their capacity to learn, earn and lead. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/gcQTSmkf

Gliding between philosophy and history. Research interests in intellectual history, history of ideas, roles of images throughout history, history of science.
I wanna share with you a photo I'm proud of that me and Catalina Angheloiu made for the International Women's Day. It is part of our art-inspired sessions, this time taking inspiration from the Pre-Raphaelite artistic movement where women played an important, and yet not thoroughly researched role (see Jane Morris for example). Gloria Steinem, reportedly once explained: "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights." Organizations and groups can #InspireInclusion through action in areas such as: -forging women's economic empowerment -recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent -supporting women and girls into leadership, decision-making, business and STEM -designing and building infrastructure meeting the needs of women and girls -helping women and girls make informed decisions about their health -involving women and girls in sustainable agriculture and food security -providing women and girls with access to quality education and training -elevating women and girl's participation and achievement in sport -promoting creative and artistic talent of women and girls -addressing further areas supporting the advancement of women and girls #inspireinclusion read more: https://lnkd.in/dpzGisQE
