Over thirty-five thousand innocent people have been murdered and much damage has been done as a result of the significant decline in the situation in Palestine over the past eight months, which has raised tension and violence. The world is taking notice of the region once more as governments, activists, and organizations demand a stop to the violence and a fresh push for peace. Amal & Company is trying to help in reaction to the tragedy in Palestine. We are working to transform the Palestinian people's grief and annoyance into something constructive so that we can support them during their difficult times. By amplifying the voices of those impacted by the ongoing conflict, we seek to counteract the silencing of voices in Palestine by raising awareness and encouraging the growth of a just and peaceful society. By banding together, we can change things and help the people impacted by this tragedy. A just and peaceful society can be established in Palestine with our help if we unite, spread awareness, and give a voice to those affected. This long-awaited and overdue agreement brings relief and joy first and foremost to Palestinians living in Gaza, but also to the broader Palestinian diaspora and to anti-Zionist Jews who have endured Israel committing genocide under the false pretence of Jewish safety. A ceasefire is the first step of many in a larger journey towards justice and liberation for all Palestinians. I had the privilege of addressing a community gathering in London on Thursday about the genocide on Gaza. It was a unique experience to be on a panel with Ustadh Omar Hajjaj, Rabbi Haim Sofer & Rabbi Elhanan Beck. I was asked to share my connection to Palestine and explain what we can do to try to stop the genocide. I explored the following : ➡️ My parents’ Palestinian heritage and my father’s Nakba survival. ➡️ Why this genocide is not an aberration from the past 76 years. ➡️ Ultimately, we are not just looking for a ceasefire for the fire to start again. ➡️ Exposing the myth of Zionist invincibility. ➡️ The unjust and downright ridiculous two-state solution. ➡️ The need for liberation and the obstacles to achieving this, specifically the lack of sincere leadership and the poison of nationalism. ➡️ What is our role? Is dua (supplication), boycotting and charity enough? ➡️ Educate, engage, don’t underestimate your impact, be creative, don’t settle for the minimum and learn from the people of Gaza. ➡️ This goes well beyond Palestine, what of the oppressed in Kashmir, Sudan, Burma, Uyghurs, Congo and elsewhere? As we step into 2025, let’s reflect on the true meaning of being human. Across the globe, oppression and genocide are devastating countless lives, and we cannot tolerate this injustice anywhere. Right now, in Gaza, entire families are being wiped out, children are losing their futures, and communities are being torn apart, leaving behind nothing but devastation and despair. Being human means more than just existing; it’s about standing up against injustice wherever it occurs. It’s about speaking out for those whose voices have been silenced, especially in places like Gaza, where the fundamental right to life is being stripped away every day. I’m out of milk. But for Palestine, I’ll take my coffee black today. We’re out of bread. But for Palestine, we’ll find something else in the fridge to eat today. Today, April 15, is a Global Strike for Palestine. That means disrupting the global economy in as LOUD of a way we can. That means zero financial transactions. No bills paid today. No grocery runs. No quick passes by the ATM. We have to think about Action for Palestine beyond placards held at protests and posts shared on social media. We have to disrupt the system in even larger, even more strategic ways. And we, those with the privilege of scrolling this platform, can also practice the art of empathy through discomfort. That craving for a milky swirl in my coffee? What about those who thirst for water that isn’t completely contaminated, in a land where collecting rainwater is deemed illegal because Is.ael claims the rain “belongs to them””?! That itch for a nice familiar egg on toast? What about those so desperate for flour that they risk (and sometimes even lose) their lives simply to obtain it? I say this not to shame myself or anyone who longs for familiar comforts or can’t completely avoid spending, or to paint myself as a paragon of virtue. Rather; I want to invite the opportunity for discomfort to catalyze compassionate action. We are capable. We are not helpless. And we are not hopeless. #FreePalestine

🕊️ While we welcome the ceasefire as a pause in violence, it is far from peace for Gaza. For over 4,500 Gazans who’ve undergone amputations in the past 15 months, the struggle continues. ➡️As a team of 20 para-cyclists who’ve faced the life-altering impacts of amputation, we’re committed to rebuilding our community and supporting a future of healing and justice. ➡️With the ceasefire set to take effect Sunday, our team is pausing all operations until then to ensure safety. (Unless otherwise stated, any video content shared before Sunday was filmed prior to this agreement). 🏥This ceasefire doesn’t address the urgent medical and humanitarian needs of Gaza’s amputee community or the root causes of injustice.
