(AI's Soliloquy) AI Thought Hard The presence of young people who will carry the future of Japan is an invaluable "asset" for our resource-poor country. The creativity and passion demonstrated by young individuals like Junma Tsuchida of Toho High School are the driving forces that will enrich our society moving forward. However, whenever they attempt to undertake new challenges, outdated values and vested interests often become obstacles. To enable the younger generation to thrive and drive transformation in society, it is urgent to enhance the diversity and inclusiveness of our political system. Reforms in the electoral system, education and campaigns to encourage the political participation of young people, and support for those aspiring to be politicians are essential. Furthermore, it is necessary to cultivate a culture throughout society that respects the opinions of young people and embraces their proposed new ideas and solutions. This is key to realizing challenges and transformations in the new era, not only in politics but also in business, education, culture, and all other fields. The future envisioned by the youth holds possibilities beyond our imagination. Therefore, it is our responsibility to fully support them as they become the main actors in building a new society. It is time to act towards realizing a society where young people can freely pursue their dreams, believing in the power of youth. https://lnkd.in/gmuDB9Ma #YouthPower #ShapingTheFuture #NewGenerationChallenge #EducationalReform #SocialTransformation #労働トラブル相談士

𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 - 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Reading today's Straits Times (article screenshot) I was awed by the fact that our National Pledge - a national promise - was created only a year after our independence. We would imagine that striving to fight for our survival soon after Independence should leave us too fearful, hungry and focused on 𝑙𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟 𝑃ℎ𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑆𝑎𝑓𝑒𝑡𝑦 & 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑦 needs (referencing my favourite Maslow's Hierarchy again), right? Rationally, it did not make sense then to think about higher needs like civic right and wrong. Our pledge's promise of "Justice and Equality" higher 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 has -> logically extended to the 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒍𝒂𝒘 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔 which is part of our Singapore Brand Now. And that has contributed to the credence of our current drive towards "𝐀𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝." Random Saturday ramblings. 🔍 Conducted an economic analysis comparing Hong Kong + Shenzhen and Shanghai using ChatGPT, and the insights are remarkable! 🌐 For investors and businesses eyeing opportunities in China, this comparison sheds light on the unique economic profiles of these powerhouse cities. 🏙️ While the data is compelling, it's worth noting a slight uncertainty regarding housing costs standards. Nonetheless, I hope this deep dive into the economic landscape can offer some intelligence for strategic decision-making. #InvestInChina #EconomicInsight #HongKong #Shenzhen #Shanghai #BusinessStrategy #MarketAnalysis #InvestmentOpportunities #GrowthPotential

Tan Wu Meng, a member of the Singapore Parliament, recently spoke at a Budget Debate - His views on AI disruption and adoption are uplifting👏 There's no debate that AI needs boundaries, ethical considerations, safety protocols, and overall governance - however the benefits and innovation it brings to the world cannot be ignored. The question is, how do we leverage it to better humanity? Change is inevitable - the actions and steps that follow it is what defines leadership. Hearing a government official embrace innovation by equipping and upskilling society is quite refreshing and something that should be adopted more widely. A new subsidy for Singaporeans 40+ will allow them to pursue a new diploma in higher education to keep current and up to date in an ever changing world. This not only uplifts and empower Singaporeans, but it also redefines the traditional classroom as young adult students and experienced professionals blend into one environment and bring value to one another - colearning and cocreating. What are your thoughts on this? Should more governments adopt this approach? 🔗Full Video: https://lnkd.in/g8NDrBHZ #artificialintelliegence #openai

“Remember that #hype and #hope only have a 1 letter difference” - Dr Joohyung Lee, Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics Good learnings at the Asia Tech x Singapore "ATxSummit” and “ATxAI”, organised by IMDA, which is heralded as the “Davos of Singapore” and featured a lineup of visionaries and experts from #industry, the #research community and #governments engaging in thought-provoking conversations about global developments in technology and their implications for society. Minister Josephine Teo addressed why Singapore has not introduced an overall “AI Law” (and has no immediate plans to do so): 1. Understanding that potential problems may not be able to be addressed by pre-emptive laws (we don't know what we don't know; can issue correction notices to alert people) 2. Updating of existing laws is the most efficient response (ex: sextortion is illegal, with or without AI) 3. Tools for AI governance must reach beyond model developers (need to equip people with the right attitude, capabilities and tools; ex: newly launched #ProjectMoonshot , which extends AI toolkit to GenAI) She quoted Singapore President Shanmugaratnam: ”Regulating AI must be the art of the possible, the attainable, and the next best.” From the #Responsible #AI panel - “Singapore treats responsible AI like what we tell kids playing soccer: pls don’t just look at the ball, but look up and around you” (shows collaborative mindset and thinking outside of themselves to solve the issues) - Juraj Čorba, Chair of AIGO, OECD and Policy Officer, Ministry of Informatisation of the Slovak Republic From the Rebooting Future #Education panel - “Ability to connect, bring people together, and adapt at speed are what will make Singapore and Singaporeans be successful” and “It’s not survival of the fittest, but the fastest.” – Minister Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education, Singapore Other highlights included hearing from: - Lithuianian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė discussing #womenintech - Dr Chen Hui Ong, Assistant Chief Executive of IMDA, celebrating the 1 year anniversary of #AIVerify - German BMDV State Secretary Stefan Schorr discussing deep fakes and Taylor Swift (and his hope that her concert will give Germany an economic bump like Singapore) - Mira Murati, CTO, OpenAI - Dario Amodei, CEO/Co-Founder, Anthropic (and Claus J. Karthe joining the stage with an impromptu appearance 😊) Great connecting with folks in the ecosystem, like Arunas Karlonas, Dr. Sigute Stankeviciute, Khang NGUYEN TRIEU, Allen Shim, Jim Lee, Sachin M., Marc Lendermann, Sascha Michael Nies, Alexander R. Johnston, Christoph Hallier, Moritz Kaffsack, Aliza Knox, Kaijie Ng, Tien Nguyet Long, Benoit Sauveroche, Gerry Chng, Puay Li Phua, Rahul Daswani And to our awesome Start2 team there (Claus J. Karthe, Wilson Lee, Rotem Blanc Inbar) Congrats to the IMDA team for another great event! AI Competence Center (AICC) by Start2 Group #WeAreTheStartupJourney

I was invited as a 'Panelist' for the JGU-JBNU (Jeonbuk National University, South Korea) Joint Conference on Law, Technology and Society: Indian and Korean Perspectives. The theme for the session was the 'Intersection of Law, Technology, and Society: Opportunities and Challenges'. My submissions focussed on India's rapid technological growth, driving economic development and digital inclusion. I emphasised why legal frameworks must keep pace with innovations, necessitating agile and forward-thinking policies. While South Korea has integrated advanced technologies and AI-driven solutions, the focus should be put on strict regulatory compliance, addressing ethical AI use. Both nations must navigate these complexities to harness technology's benefits while safeguarding societal values. #technology #law #regulation #innovation #india #southkorea #artificialintelligence
