Your LinkedIn Strategy is Hurting My Heart and My Eyeballs | "America's Top LinkedIn Thought Leader" - Forbes | Helping 7-8 Figure Businesses Claim The Top Spot w/ Most Lucrative Position, Niche, and "BSOT" Messaging.
If your eyeballs are reading this, you've done it! You've survived yet another very intense year in our "Eyeball" economy. Where if we're sharing our ideas or our offers in the digital marketplace, we have to get very tuned in to what attracts - and keeps - eyeballs (and earballs) tuning into us. On a personal note, I never imagined that I would be competing for eyeballs (and earballs, and hearts, and minds) with the likes of Netflix, Hulu, 115 MILLION active channels on Youtube, and 1 BILLION users on LInkedIn. But like so many of my friends, colleagues, and clients, that's exactly where we find ourselves. And so today, just for a change, I'd love to learn something different about you, something I probably wouldn't find out, in the normal course of online business. What's one thing that you're proud of or excited about that you rarely get to talk about? This could be from this past year, or of longer duration. For example: I'm proud of my children, who are quite different than anything I could have imagined as a young person. I have four black stepchildren (late teens and early 20s) and one biological child I gave up in an Open adoption (meaning I see him a lot) who is trans. By telling you about this, I'm proud to be a "transparent" Trans-parent. I'm so proud of all of these kids for how they see the world and how they help ME see the world through very different eyeballs. Which I love. What about you? What are you proud of, or excited about, that you rarely get to share on LinkedIn? #linkedin #proud
I'm proud that I followed my dream to move to Mexico. As dreams turn into reality there are unexpected surprises and I'm learning to navigate them well. I've given up on 5yr plans and focus much more on what makes sense to my family & I in the here and now. I'm super proud of our 14yr old son for his resilience in going to an international school, meeting new friends, finding his way back to his love of guitar, teaching himself coding and his dedication to learning in his own way.
You're so giving Ellen Melko Moore, such a beautiful soul. I'm proud of practicing "letting go of form".....of launching my Permission To Be Human Podcast, expressing with wild abaondon, writing a big chunk of my forthcoming book and singing in a choir just for me. And mostly...I'm proud of my daughter--honestly, its a little bit crazy how if everything is okay with your kids, it feels like the rest is almost a bonus. Almost. :-)
I'm proud of how much time I've spent in this past year working towards my goals of creating a course helping women leave corporate life to become a freelancer/online contractor. It started as an idea in February and it took a while (I only work a few days a week and have my 1 year old home with me at times), but I also hosted a group cohort for feedback and the course almost done! I expect it to be done next week. Never in a million years would I think I'd create a course and somehow I just kept plugging away at it.
I am reading this with one eyeball (got injured in a basketball game earlier-- unlike someone else I know, I will be back to reading with two eyeballs soon). ;-) Anyway, this is a wonderful and serious post, but the first line about eyeballs made me laugh... Congrats on being a great (step)mom.
Ellen, I'm proud for earning a guitar degree (two year) at the same time as I earned an engineering degree. Even though I don't actively use my music knowledge daily, it brings me joy and continues to sharpen my brain.
I found out that I was truly a support to a family member during a dark time in their life -- without being fully informed of their darkness at the time. Another perk to being intuitive... just sayin'. I'm very grateful. And proud. I'm proud that I wrote ALL KINDS of posts here on LinkedIn while I learned how to write better posts. Still here. Still learning. Still needing to dial it in. I'm proud that I have made an enormous difference in the lives of my clients and my students. And they have done the same for me. THAT'S community. I LOVE this post, Ellen Melko Moore. You can be proud that you make a difference in MY life! You always have...
Ellen Melko Moore I'm proud of my stepson and his growing family of 5 now as we all welcomed Baby Beckham Bear to the world last Wed. I'm also proud of my son who will be graduating from HS this year. And lastly I'm proud of my husband landing a new job that we'll be relocating for to a new state later this year. Lots of good stuff going on :)
Ok, you asked...lol This past year I have been learning how to do for me what I have mad skills at with my clients Namely. Being able to directly channel the wisdom and direction from the Universe In the past few months I am finally able to hear it not just sense it. It has often eluded me for my own messages but now I have a mostly open dialogue with the Universe. Which is freaking cool!! And I am never alone. 😆

10moI'm proud of how I continue to learn and grow as a leader....something that will never be "finished". It takes a real investment of time and energy and often starts with self-awareness combined with being open to feedback that may identify blind spots. But it is quite satisfying when others begin to notice your evolution over time, and motivates me to become an even better leader, in various aspects of my life.
