A study published this week found that annual mammography screening from age 40 to 79 reduces breast cancer mortality by nearly 42%. Early detection saves lives. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gXk8-xpA #mammograms #yearlymammograms #breastcancer #breastcancerscreenings #breastcancerawareness #earlydetection #earlydetectionsaveslives

Though breast cancer incidence has increased yearly since the mid-2000s, the ACS claims that, as of 2020, the mortality rate among females had declined 43% since its peak in 1989. The reasons for the decline were the factors Breast Cancer Awareness Month was started for: earlier detection via mammography, increased awareness of breast cancer testing, and improvements in treatment due in part to increased research and funding. https://lnkd.in/eUjZR4Ct #BreastCancer
