Big Red was back with me to Run #10. This challenge began with excitement, anticipation, and some anxiety on my part. I am super lucky to have had support along the way to get me through many of these runs. Once again, I would like to share data/facts about breast cancer to help with awareness and support in Susan G Komen. “During the 1980s and 1990s, diagnoses of early-stage breast cancer in the U.S., including ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), increased greatly. This was likely due to the increased use of screening mammography during this time.  Among women 50 and older, rates of DCIS increased from 7 cases per 100,000 women in 1980 to 73 cases per 100,000 women in 2000. Alteryx is taking part in Cycle for Survival to raise money for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I'm excited to be riding in my first Cycle for Survival event in LA on February 25th, and would appreciate my network's support! Did you know: 1 in 3 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime? It's likely that we will all be impacted directly or indirectly by a friend, family member or co-worker's cancer diagnosis at some point during our lifetime. Adding to this, half of all people diagnosed with cancer are battling a rare cancer, which includes types such as leukemia and lymphoma; thyroid, ovarian, brain, and pancreatic cancers; as well as all pediatric cancers. Rare cancers are also extremely underfunded.
