Even if you aren't a Pro Driver, chances are you spend time behind the wheel. ProDrivers is celebrating #NationalSafetyMonth by partnering with clients to bolster their safety trainings. This weeks topic: Distracted Driving! Sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for 4.6 seconds. At 55 mph, that’s like driving the length of an entire football field without even looking at the roadway. Driver inattention is a leading factor in crashes and near-crashes. Nearly 80% of crashes involved some form of driver inattention in the 3 seconds before the crash or near-crash. Making sure that our drivers keep themselves and those around them safe on the road is the most important part of what we do everyday. DM me to talk about how additional training can keep your CDL and non-CDL drivers safe on the roads. #EBSafetyTogether #NSM

A Findit Parts survey found that less than 5% of Americans know the locations of a semi-truck's blind spots, leading to dangerous driving behaviors. This lack of knowledge aligns with a study showing 70% of truck-car crashes are due to car driver behavior. The survey revealed that 80% of respondents were unaware of the blind spot directly in front of a semi, and 64% had seen drivers change lanes into a truck's blind spot. Proper education on truck safety is crucial, as many believe driver’s ed courses are insufficient. Improved driver education and truck driver coaching are needed to enhance road safety and prevent crashes.

Next week marks CVSA Brake Safety Week, a crucial reminder of the importance of regular brake inspections for commercial vehicles. Ensuring that brakes are in proper working condition is essential for the safety of drivers, passengers, and every road user. To improve brake safety, several steps can be taken - regular maintenance and inspections are key; checking brake pads, drums, rotors, and other components for wear and tear. Training drivers on proper braking techniques and the importance of reporting any issues they notice can also make a significant difference. By prioritizing brake safety, we can help prevent accidents and save lives on the road. Let's all do our part - as leadership, drivers, and techs - to ensure that our vehicles are equipped with reliable brakes and help spread awareness about the importance of brake safety during CVSA Brake Safety Week and beyond. #CVSA #BrakeSafetyWeek #RoadSafety #CommercialVehicleSafety. https://lnkd.in/gEYvd47u

"Professionalism is a two-way street, especially when it comes to road safety. While we expect class 1 drivers to uphold the highest standards, it's equally important for all drivers to be mindful and courteous around commercial trucks. Unsafe driving not only jeopardizes the lives of truck drivers but also puts everyone on the road at risk. Let's prioritize defensive driving and safety for all. #DefensiveDriving #SafeDriving"
