We have truly stepped up our game and are setting an impressive example for the whole sector. As a result, we have a silver rating from EcoVadis and have continued to increase our score. We have done this in several ways from implementing eco-friendly manufacturing processes to embracing renewable energy sources, we are taking concrete steps to reduce our carbon footprint and create a greener future. We have also prioritized ethical sourcing by partnering with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. By implementing efficient waste disposal systems and recycling initiatives, we are actively working towards a circular economy, where resources are used responsibly, and waste is minimized. Not stopping there, we have also invested in research and development to drive innovation in sustainable medtech solutions. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, we are pioneering groundbreaking initiatives that will revolutionize the industry while keeping environmental impact in mind. Our commitment doesn't end with our internal practices alone. #medtech #esg #green #singleuse #disposable #emissions #ghg #decarbonization #bcg Adopting decarbonisation initiatives can be beneficial to MedTech companies such as building new revenue streams, improving its reputation and competitive edge, complying and staying ahead of regulations and better investor valuations. But, according to BCG, some of the resistance towards setting grand climate goals is that it would be expensive to do so. However, things like reducing packaging, business travel and improving factory efficiency can result in reducing costs. BCG’s four steps for reducing carbon emissions: 1)     Creating a baseline: You cannot reduce what you cannot measure, and assessing Scope 1 & 2 by the orgranisation and scope 3 (supply chain/upstream and customer/downstream) 2)     Set a target: Using the Paris Agreement as a minimum, a plan to achieve net-zero and including all three scopes within the target. 3)     Identify abatement levers: these are tactics that companies need to use to reduce carbon emissions. 4)     Operationalise improvements: the sustainability agenda must be prioritised by MedTech CEO’s across the organisation. We're now on the home straight for next month's Medtech Sustainability Forum event to be held in Boston. 16th May will see medical industry stakeholders, key opinion leaders, academics and researchers, subject experts and standards professionals/regulators discuss what sustainability in healthcare is, why it's important and what to do about it. Medical colleagues based in N. ESG initiatives are increasingly prioritized by Asia Pacific medtech companies and their customers, according to a survey conducted jointly by Bain & Company and Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed). The survey, which was completed in May and included 120 customers and over 800 employees and executives from medtech companies across six Asia Pacific markets found that more than 70% of medtech customers had already defined Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies, 60% of medtech employees reported that their companies have established ESG ambitions and had set specific targets.
