A common pitfall of PE marketing is "marketing to the void." Marketing to the void means you create some form of marketing material, publish it on your site/social media, then pray the algorithm gods get that content in front of people you care about. Frankly, that's not going to happen. There's too much material out there that if you don't actively promote to prospects, they'll never see it. Here's what you should do instead of marketing to the void: 1️⃣ Create a list of contacts you want to reach out to 2️⃣ Produce some form of marketing material (a website, a PDF, an article) 3️⃣ Market that content directly to your list (e.g. email, LinkedIn matched audiences) Don't just send your marketing materials out on one channel—send on multiple. That way you're more likely to get a touchpoint. #contentmarketing #privateequity
