Sarcoidosis and Interstitial Lung Disease Specialist working in industry to improve patients' lives.
Interstitial lung disease (#ILD) is difficult to recognize, which can lead to delayed diagnosis and irreversible scarring of the lungs (#PulmonaryFibrosis). During #ATS2024, I had the opportunity to listen to an insightful conversation about what it is like to live with ILD, featuring pulmonologist, Dr. Tanzira Zaman, and Brittany, an advocate living with scleroderma-associated ILD. Their discussion underscored the significance of a multidisciplinary approach. Importantly, they addressed that collaborative care does not have to be formal to be impactful. It can be as simple as a phone call or personal communications between healthcare professional teams, always keeping the patient at the center. #PatientCentricity #LifeForward #ATSCommunity

As we close out Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month, we would like to thank all of the organizations and individuals who worked to educate and generate awareness of this serious and often debilitating condition where there is scarring, or fibrosis, of the lungs. At aTyr, we will continue to support the pulmonary fibrosis (PF) community by working to develop efzofitimod as a potential treatment for those living with pulmonary sarcoidosis and SSc-ILD, two forms of interstitial lung disease (ILD) that can result in progressive fibrosis of the lungs.
