Excellent architecture coupled with skilful interior design demonstrates a considered conversation between materials, form, and structure. The featured staircase and its surrounds pictured show how the hard surfaces of stone can be softened by both their form – here, the soft flow of the floating staircase – and the interplay of wood in the structure and design throughout the space. The goal is for there to be a sense of everything being in its rightful place; that no aspect of the design is accidental, but rather considered, purposeful, and thoughtfully placed to contribute to the scheme of the whole.
