Recovery in Times Square! What a remarkable video! Let's place recovery front and centre in conversations to support people to find the help they need in behavioural healthcare treatment. I have been on the Advisory Board for Recovery.com (formerly RehabPath) for a few years, and have been consistently impressed at what founders Ben Camp and Jeremiah Calvino are achieving with the support of an amazing staff team. I'm not sure I thought I would ever see the day when recovery was on the big screen! Seeing the reaction of Cliff McDonald is wonderful! Normalising conversations about recovery make a difference to people getting help - whether it's in the US, or here in Australia. If you are ever trying to find the right treatment options for you or a loved one, please don't give up. Message me and I'll help you work through some options. It matters too much to stay stuck. #recovery #addictionawareness #mentalhealthawareness #businessleaders #highperformance #behaviouralhealth #timessquare #recoveryispossible
A few weeks ago I went to New York City for a business trip and had one of the biggest surprises of my life. I was there for an Advisory Board meeting with Trey Laird Ruth Limkin Ben Camp Jeremiah Calvino, Sarjoo P. and Jasleen Chhatwal, MBBS, MD, CPE, DFAPA. Ben and Jeremiah invited me to meet them in Times Square and here's what happened next. It's hard to find the words to convey my gratitude and excitement to be a part of this amazing team and this important mission. I don't think my personal recovery from alcoholism would have started if I didn't have access to resources that enabled me to get the level of care that I needed. It has been historically difficult to get the right level of treatment at the right time for people struggling with behavioral health disorders. We are having a material impact with changing that. My cup runneth over... https://lnkd.in/g3N7hH9H

The No to Violence National Conference: Leading Radical Change has officially kicked off today and runs until Thursday, 5 September. This crucial event brings together voices from all corners - those with lived experience, policymakers, practitioners and researchers - learning from each other to shape meaningful, human-centred responses in our communities, families and workplaces. It's a fantastic opportunity to engage in discussions that will drive the radical change needed to end men’s use of family violence. We are proud to share that our very own Andy Hamilton (Founder), Jennifer Parke (Head of Operations)and Kane Abbott (Program Team Leader) will be presenting at the conference. Their spotlight conversation, titled "They won't engage!" - how a youth mental health service is disrupting harm with a 95% engagement rate with adolescents other services have failed to reach, will delve into how Human Nature is reaching regional young people struggling with mental health and trauma. By combining evidence-based psychological therapies with engaging activities in nature, our service not only supports victim survivors but also works to reduce future violence through empathy-building and challenging harmful attitudes. Join us in exploring how innovative approaches can make a real difference. We look forward to seeing the impact of this powerful dialogue! #NTV204 #NoToViolence #LeadingRadicalChange #MentalHealth #YouthSupport #EndingViolence

Join us in supporting Black Mental Health this month. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), only one in three Black adults who need mental health care receive it. Additionally, the suicide rate among Black youth has been found to be increasing faster than any other racial/ethnic group. Due to stigma, lack of culturally competent providers, mistrust of medical providers due to historical abuse, cost or a lack of insurance, and/or limited options in their area, Black adults and youth often experience multiple barriers to care. Behavioral Crossroads offers a Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program at our Egg Harbor Township campus for clients with mental health disorders (primary) and co-occurring substance abuse disorder. We have a licensed RHCF (Residential Health Care Facility) in Atlantic County (Black Horse House) that provides long-term housing to disabled individuals with chronic and persistent mental health disorders who need stabilization, medication management and structure for daily living support. It is funded by social security and private pay for Medicaid, Veterans administration or a publicly funded population. If you or your loved one is struggling with mental health disorders and co-occurring substance use issues, call our team TODAY at 856-818-0135 or visit: https://lnkd.in/eRbkydBw #BlackMentalHealth #BlackWellness #BlackHistoryMonth #blackhistory #BlackVoices #CelebrateBlackHistory #AfricanAmericanHistory #Recovery #AddictionRecovery #SoberLife #Sobriety #SoberCommunity #SoberLiving #RecoveryIsPossible

As we approach our April 6 ritual initiation of Open Field Awakening, it's an honor to find these prayerful intentions bringing us further into right relationship already! Remember, what you are working is also working you. 😘 https://lnkd.in/g-TYpjaq
Just had a wonderful conversation this morning with Tamara Strohauer MSW, LCSW and Dennis OConnor in the spirit of building greater integrity in the web of regional relations with concern for transformations of the metacrisis. Some potentially fruitful connections came to mind. Thoughts of Greg Buttner Ph.D LMFT came up with synergies between his and Tamara's relations with our local Native Turtle Islanders kin and working with trauma and addiction in particular. Eric Hekler also came to mind as a colleague building local community networks of resilience and wellbeing, with a particular focus on the field of health. Onward prayerfully through this awesome mystery… 🙏
