2024-04-25 AsSalam... The Business Engineering Alignment Meeting (BEAM) is a workshop-based process to bring together the business sponsor and the core project team. The goal is to align on project parameters, ensuring a shared understanding of the business objectives and the trade-offs between cost, schedule, and functionality. This alignment is crucial for capital efficiency and helps create more value for project sponsors. Based on my experience, conducting a BEAM with diligence and precision is instrumental for steering a project to its successful completion. It ensures cohesive goals, clear decisions on cost, and schedules between stakeholders, laying a solid foundation for project excellence! #ProjectManagement #BEAM #TeamAlignment #SuccessfulExecution #CapitalEfficiency #StrategicPlanning
Are your key project stakeholders on the same page? Join us on May 2 to learn when and how to successfully conduct a Business Engineering Alignment Meeting (BEAM) to achieve stakeholder alignment. This live online session is just 3 hours (9 am to 12 pm US ET)! The business case is the single most important element in building an effective capital project. How are you identifying the potential risks to achieving your business case goals. IPA can help assess if your business case is strong enough to set your project up for success: https://lnkd.in/gquk-EvY #ProjectManagement #Construction #Projects #EnergyTransition #Energy #Manufacturing #RiskManagement #RiskAssessment #RiskAnalysis #BusinessCase #Feasibility

As complex energy projects incorporating new and/or scale up technologies move from feasibility stage to pre-FEED, project developers and investors will need to think very carefully about the contracting structures employed in order to facilitate the realization of an integrated project delivery solution. Without these early-stage considerations, developers and investors could be inadvertently setting the project up for failure. https://lnkd.in/ea9PFbhv

It’s almost 10 years since the last revision of CDM, the Construction Design & Management Regs. First published in 1994, this regulation has had a profoundly positive impact on the gas industry. Assumably the same can be said for others. But is it time for a change? If you could make just one change to this regulation, what would it be and why? #CDM

Experience Sharing Or more like a quick thought. I've been wondering why Utility systems are normally skipped when it comes to brownfield expansions. It should be captured during FEL-2 Feasibility Studies under OSBL boundaries. It has been bugging me ever since I got involved in a project back 2018. I just realized that perhaps, there is no clear or direct connection being made when it comes to brownfield projects and Utility systems. Brownfield projects, unlike greenfield, is enhancement of existing systems and facilities, and its enhancements are subjective in relation to the objective of the projects. To simplify, what need to be enhanced depends on identification of bottlenecks and requirements. And most brownfield projects objectives are process enhancement. And this is a bane when it comes to Utility systems, having multiple subsystems and complex integration with the process, as it will be hard to identify these nagging yet critical bottlenecks. So perhaps there is a need to make clear yet simple indication as to how process enhancements affects Utility systems. Perhaps now Utility systems need to be categorized into energy generation capability. This will be an easy way to generally estimate how much addition will need to be added to support brownfield projects. After all, Utility systems mainly is about energy. It'll be fun to try this theory. In my current position, it will not be feasible to. I sure hope there will be a chance to do so. But in any case, I hope there is discussion into identifying project potential by energy requirement in the future as well. We should really consider energy as a currency one way or another. #utility #projectmanagement #processengineering
