Yesterday at EM3, we hosted a transformative workshop around the topic of Change Management. Jim Breen and Darren Laird from I Am Here presented their expert views on fostering safe, healthy, and supportive teams. We delved into the importance of changing how we approach change and emphasized on creating robust support systems within our company. One of the key takeaways was the powerful message that it's okay not to be okay and the importance of encouraging a culture where seeking help is embraced. At EM3, we are committed to looking out for ourselves and each other. Follow my inspiring conversation with Dr. Madeleine Wallace as we journey through her experience of digital transformation from a small town in Peru to the global stage. Growing up in rural Peru, Dr. Wallace saw how inadequate digital adaptation caused the downfall of her parent's vocational school. This experience was pivotal, provoking her to design an innovative SEAM (Snapshot Evaluate, Act and Monitor) framework for effective digital transformation. The SEAM model begins by taking an incisive snapshot of a company's current digital status, calling for leaders to bravely acknowledge positive and negative aspects of the business. This 'snapshot' serves as a starting point for a successful change strategy. The next step, Evaluation, involves using information from the snapshot to determine the steps for change, presenting a chance to develop a detailed plan. During the Actuation phase, proposed changes are gradually implemented, often requiring external consultants for expert guidance. Finally, progress is tracked and reviewed during the Monitoring phase, allowing adjustments to strategies to ensure their effectiveness. Dr. Wallace's experiences and insights emphasize the importance of acceptance, readiness, and adaptability in successful digital transformation. As our world continues to evolve digitally, resistance to change is no longer an option. Rather, businesses must be brave, open-minded, and adaptable enough to thrive in this ever-changing digital landscape. The takeaway? Embrace digital transformation, seize the chance to evaluate, take action, and consistently monitor progress.
