Ambassador at Belgian Foreign Ministry

William Legget lost his life in 1914 in Belgium when he was 23 years old. He died defending the inhabitants of Geluwe, a small town in Flanders. His bravery forged an ongoing relationship between Goulburn and Geluwe and between Australia and Belgium. Many thanks to the mayor of Goulburn, Peter Walker, and Michelle Mackey, from the War Museum of Goulburn for hosting a visit from the Belgian Ambassador.
