It costs us nothing. Without our guests, we would have never been here. We need our guests not vice versa. Escort guests rather than pointing out direction to another area of the hotel. It shows that we care, respect and we are delighted to help. Walk few steps with the guest. If you can leave your service place and walk with the guest to the required area, please do! They will appreciate your courtesy. Be aware of your body language when dealing with guests. Always remember our main target is to pamper our guests and build their loyalty to our hotel and our company.

Negotiation Case Study: Achieving a Compromise During Festivities. In the 21st century, the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively to achieve desired outcomes is one of the most valuable skills. If you can successfully negotiate a deal with terms that benefit you, you're ahead of the game. I'd like to share a recent experience from my vacation that illustrates this point. I was vacationing on Tioman Island during the Malaysian holiday of Hari Raya, which marks the end of the sacred fasting period of Ramadan and lasts for three days. I rented a beachfront cabin with a scenic ocean view. The pleasure was uninterrupted until the evening when locals started engaging in karaoke and setting off fireworks. The celebration was scheduled to continue until midnight, by which time I would typically have been asleep for an hour. The challenge: How could I persuade the locals to end their celebration an hour earlier on the evening before the concert? Constraints: 1. Offering bribes was not an option. 2. The law was unlikely to be on my side regardless of the situation. 3. There's nobody of the hotel management available, you didn't meet anyone on the reception.
