Anyone else think experience over the last week especially should be used as a case study for "remarketing gone wrong"? Inboxes have been flooded with wave after wave of emails all with the promise of discounts, "time running out" and similar themes all for the Black Friday to Cyber Monday retail period. But does the data really show this method of barrage tactics actually getting results. I'd be curious to know how many businesses have actually damaged their brand image with potential and past customers for at times aggressive methods of marketing. Additionally, it would be interesting to see what the eventual bounce rate and unsubscribe figures are by tomorrow morning as audiences decide enough is enough. What was your experience this year?
