Big news! Today, we announced the opening of our newly expanded Life Science distribution center in Schnelldorf, Germany. The investment of € 180 million added 25,000 square meters to the site, almost doubling its size. It now includes a new manual down filling operation and additional space for the distribution of a wide range of products to laboratories and research facilities all around the world. We have signed a definitive agreement to acquire life science company Mirus Bio for US$ 600 million. Mirus Bio is a specialist in the development and commercialization of transfection reagents. These reagents play a key role in the production of viral vectors for cell and gene therapies. The acquisition will advance our integrated offering for viral vector manufacturing and complements the existing portfolio for development and production of novel modalities – a key growth area for MilliporeSigma.
