How much will my cancer treatment cost ❓️❓️ This is one the scariest questions oncologists hear all the time. The desperate looks in the patient’s eyes and the mix of hope, sorrow and confusion when discussing cancer treatment options with a patient. Cancer and its treatments are a major source of financial burden to patients, families and governments. Recently, ESMO - European Society for Medical Oncology has issued a consensus guidelines for screening and management of financial toxicity in patients with cancer. I find this a must-read paper for all healthcare professionals dealing with cancer patients. In the comments, I add the most significant points of the paper in my opinion. Tell me your insights on this. #cancer #CancerResearch #ResearchersToolbox #BreastCancer #FinancialToxicity

This post is intended for US audiences. This #BreastCancerAwareness month, we recognize the more than 360,000 people who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S., and the over 4 million American women currently undergoing or who have completed breast cancer treatment. While almost everyone knows at least one person who has been impacted by this devastating disease, I’m optimistic about the future and the potential of what science can do as we seek to drive innovation in potential new treatment options, while collaborating across sectors, stakeholders and communities to remove gaps in equitable care. #BreastCancer #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #AstraZeneca #BreastCancerAwareness

"It's really important for physicians to know how to speak to patients about their own experience and their own individual cancer and what it means to them. I think that would take away a lot of their fear." Dr. Kathryn Hudson (right) joined Christianna Sarkis Gorin from Ogilvy Health, Sarah Krüg from CANCER101 Inc., and Murray Aitken from IQVIA for a panel on Rebranding Cancer at #sxsw2024 for an in-depth look at the challenges of communicating about cancer. #sxsw #sxsw24 #atx #cancerawareness
