If you praise results, children try to replicate the same result. When you praise effort, you don't place a limit on what they can achieve. 🌟 Transforming Parenthood with a Fresh Perspective on Health and Healing 🌟 👨👩👧👦 Parents, have you ever felt that modern healthcare misses the personal touch when it comes to treating your family? That the emotional and social dimensions of your child’s health are often overlooked in favor of a quick medical diagnosis? 🤔 💡 It’s time we embraced a more nuanced approach—one that values the stories behind the symptoms and recognizes the profound influence of cultural and personal narratives in healing. 📚 🌱 As a family coach, I advocate for integrating this deeper understanding into how we care for our children. Imagine a healthcare journey that respects the unique context of each family, where treatments are tailored not just to the physical but also to the emotional and social needs. 🧠💖 👂 We need to listen to our children’s experiences and advocate for a system that does the same. This isn't just about health; it's about holistic well-being. 🔄 Let’s discuss how we can apply these ideas to parenting. How can we ensure our children's healthcare providers consider the whole child, not just the symptoms? How can we as parents facilitate this important dialogue? 🗨️ 💬 Share your thoughts and experiences below. Let's inspire each other to foster a more compassionate and comprehensive approach to health in our families. 🌟 #WholeChild #HolisticHealth #Parenting #FamilyWellness #CulturalHealing

Does planning a parent child session send chills down your spine? Sometimes even bringing up the option can give our clients a jump scare. Here’s a few tips to turn the feeling of entering a haunted house into a pumpkin patch of options. 1) Speak with the teen about various formats for the session. Rate which ones feel most-least comfortable. 2) Agree to a structure with the parent. 3) Explore the teen’s/parent’s goals for each session individually. 4) Set and uphold boundaries for the session. 5) Reflect main points and find meaning. DON’T get tangled in the web of details surrounding the conflict. 6) Close each session with positive reflections. Just like a jack-o-lantern each session will have a unique end product and can shine light on the parent-child relationship! Have you tried these tips before? Which tip do you think will work best for you and your clients? Our Play Therapy with the Whole Family course is a great course explaining more about how to navigate a parent child session. It is available on demand! Sign up at this link (also linked in our bio): https://lnkd.in/g9S3NK5Z #playtherapy #therapy #parentchild
