I’m delighted to announce that we have launched our new company emergence (https://www.emergence.ai/) which has been in incubation for the last 18 months or so. Emergence is an R&D led AI company with a focus on advancing the science of self-improvement in agents as well as on developing the critical infrastructure to enable AI agents to be built and orchestrated together to control all kinds of systems. We are a team of researchers, technologists and builders who have worked at some of the top AI labs in the world and have worked on the most scaled deployments of AI on the planet. The full promise of AI all along has been that it will perform action on our behalf and enable us to lead more productive lives. At emergence, we are passionate about unlocking this promise. We will do so in the context of solving enterprise automation tasks which are a fantastic proving ground for building deeply intelligent systems that learn, remember, reason, act and enhance human productivity in the process. To begin with, we are proud to unveil our SOTA web agent, Agent-E, designed to navigate and operate web browsers just like humans and learn to automate as much of human use of the web as possible. Agent-E currently handles 10 to 30% more tasks on different websites than previously published results on the Web Voyager and Wilbur benchmarks, without being explicitly programmed for these websites. Agent-E is an open source project (MIT license, https://lnkd.in/ePuc6XPD), so please join us in advancing AI operation of the web. Also sign-up for early access to our orchestration agent (https://lnkd.in/ePwhG_Pc) which will be released shortly. The orchestration agent is designed to allow multiple agents or LLMs to be stitched together to enable agentic loops and flows to solve complex automation tasks in the process. As long-time researchers and developers of AI in previous roles, we have demonstrated a deep commitment to responsible AI, and we are doubling down on it at emergence. We believe that the best way to ensure AI agents stay within the bounds of what they were purposed to do, is to develop them in open source. Finally, I feel humbled to quote James McClelland, who wrote the following in his seminal paper on the emergence of human cognition*: “The greatest achievements of human cognition may be largely emergent phenomena. It remains a challenge for the future to learn more about how these greatest achievements arise and to emulate them in artificial systems.” We are inspired by this challenge and at the heart of our technology development efforts is the fundamental quest to build deeply intelligent systems where multiple distributed intelligent modules or agents work with each other in agentic loops and solve tasks cooperatively. *Topics in Cognitive Science 2 (2010) #ai #ai-agents

Collaborating agents utilizing different institutions web sites or APIs is an important problem. Wishing you success figuring this out and working with clients a to apply this without constant human tweaking! Congratulations on launch.
