Interesting solution, some infrastructure trials should flush out if this works or not. could be a good solution for local authorities trying to mitigate pollution hotspots that fall just above government limits (which are often the cause of Ulez zones or traffic restrictions to try and control). The use of an electrostatic precipitator is pretty green with low running costs, but contaminated HEPA filters will need to be responsibly disposed of, and replacements funded and maintained. I wonder if this can also filter particulates that become part of the stormwater flow rather than released into the air?

At EMISSIONS & AIR QUALITY Smart Class 2024 earlier this month, Oxfordshire County Council’s #ZEV & Energy Integration Team Leader, Paul Gambrell, and Oxford City Council’s Principal Air Quality Officer, Pedro Miguel Rocha e Abreu, teamed up to deliver a fascinating keynote in two parts: The #councils in #Oxfordshire have for several years now been involved in many projects to encourage the move to #electrifiedvehicles. Paul provided an overview of the work completed to date and the resulting impacts, and also outlined “what’s next” on Oxfordshire’s #electrification journey. Oxonair is an #innovative #airquality website, built in partnership with all #localauthorities in Oxfordshire. Pedro explained how it has been designed in a simple and accessible way, with significant input from members of the public, to be used as an important #publicengagement tool to inform, communicate, and raise awareness of #airpollution amongst visitors and residents across the County.
