Non-Profit Data & Technology Strategist

Why don’t we see #data or #tech or #IT roles in the top ones for #nonprofits struggling to fill? Two reasons at least: 1) The roles don’t exist yet at the org to be filled (and that is a problem) 2) these functions have been integrated into everyone’s roles at the org and so we don’t see them as vacancies (and that is part of the solution) Nonprofits need to have the capacity to build and fill technology roles in-house, as well as to provide continuous learning and professional development to all staff members in using their data & tech.

A nationwide survey conducted in April 2023 shows that the nonprofit sector continues to suffer from a workforce shortage. The top three job categories with vacancies include program and service delivery roles, entry level jobs, and administration and human resources positions. Any vacancy restricts a nonprofit’s ability to serve its mission and community.
