Fall has definitely arrived this week in Winnesconsin (the borderland between Minnesota and Wisconsin). And I find the change in season a great time to pause, reflect, and look ahead in terms of my work and personal life. Here are the journaling prompts I am using this fall: 1. What does letting go look like to you? What feelings do you associate with it? 2. What do you need to release that is no longer serving you? 3. What else do you need to let go of this year? #FallInspiration #JournalPrompts

Honestly, I am surprised by how much has shifted in my life professionally and personally since I was coached by the incredible Amy K Musson on her podcast. Listening back to this conversation, I am truly amazed that this is even me speaking. 10 years ago, I had just received the biggest promotion of my career and was heading toward the worst case of burnout of my life. So much has changed and I continue to be grateful for every experience that has brought me to this point. Today, I am navigating level after level with ease and working around this block took about 20 minutes. And even better... you can listen to it!

The number one mistake entrepreneurs make when hiring a freelancer is in the job posting. The job posting is either too vague, expects too much, or is over-embellished. Learn from that time I had 165 freelancers apply for a social media role and discover the keys to crafting effective job posts in my recent YouTube video. #FreelancerHiring #JobPosting #JobPostingMistakes https://lnkd.in/gVUZqWE8

About six months ago, I did something kind of crazy (and kind of not). I started a YouTube channel. Then, I gave myself six months of total creative freedom to make whatever I wanted. It has been so much fun. So. Much. Fun. Is it perfect and super focused and organized? No, probably not. But that's not the point. If I waited until I knew what I was doing, I would never start. You can check it out here: https://lnkd.in/g5xNusNs P.S. Your subscription to my channel would mean so much to me, especially at this stage of the journey.

I am working with Cup of Zest, an up-and-coming food blog, to find a talented project manager (it’s a remote and freelance position). I am excited about this role because Michelle Ferrand (she/her), the founder and owner, is an incredible person and high-performing food stylist and food content creator. We have been working together on and off for the past year and she's a dream to work with. The ideal candidate would be organized, collaborative and enthusiastic as well as thrive on all aspects of project management. You can check out all the details and apply here:

The only resolution that's still holding strong is the one I set with my three year old. Halfway through January I realize most of my goals were wayy too big and I need to readjust a bit. I can't wait to pick Emily's brain on how to do that in a happy way, as a productivity coach she has plenty of ideas on this one! Join us live in the comments so you can ask questions and we can giggle together about where we've already failed this year!

This morning, I had a plan. I had thought about the meetings I had with clients. I had considered how and when I was going to workout. And, I had decided it would be the day that I would record a couple YouTube videos. But, when I woke up, I didn’t want to do any of it. I have been working my way long enough that I knew I couldn’t push through this. It was only Jan. 10. And truthfully, winter is not my most productive time of year. So… what did I do? I bundled up and went outside for a walk. And you know what? This was the most productive thing I could do this morning (even if it doesn’t seem that way on the surface). It was productive because I came back from that walk inspired to work on my next live goal setting masterclass. It’s coming up on Thursday, Feb. 29, at Noon Central Time and it’s LIVE. We get to spend up to 90 minutes together on Zoom. If you want the link when registration goes live in the next week or so, comment or DM me “goals” and I will send the link and a special discount code just for you.

If there's anything you have ever wondered about me and my career, this is the podcast episode to listen to. Margaret and I went into allllll the details... pivoting from Event Planning to Marketing, leaving the corporate world to (eventually) become a productivity coach, and sharing how it all started. Basically, there was nothing we didn't talk about.
The way we use goals as individuals is all wrong. "Goals are binary. We achieve them or we don’t. There is only one day in a year that you are achieving a goal. Every day you don’t do that you feel like failure. Now imagine what happens when you set a goal for the wrong reasons" 🤯 I was speechless when Emily Perron Sandager said this. It resonated so deeply and she truly hit on something I intuitively understood but could not articulate. Tune in to today's podcast episode to learn how Emily's unconventional career path led to her breaking the "goal mold" and effective strategies to achieving your definition of success.
