We hear a lot about how we need to decarbonise to reach our net zero by 2050. Does that just sound like a bunch of buzz words to anyone else? If the words decarbonise and business models make your eyes glaze over, this video is for you. It’s a simple explainer of what decarbonising business models means, and why it’s important for us all the think about. Even if you’re a solopreneur or a service based business that doesn’t fit the classic high emitter profile. ✌️

I teach women assertiveness, self-confidence, and personal power so they can experience lives of passion, impact, and financial freedom. I am also a Sustainability Mindset Global Trainer, because that Purpose matters.
The energy in the room was electric when I asked last Monday, during my Mindset Workshop at Amsterdam's Methane Emission Mitigation Summit, that people shared their #LimitingBeliefs regarding reducing methane emissions. I also asked them to write their #Turnarounds and then share it with a partner. One of the most prevalent #LimitingBeliefs is that the organization could not really change, that the culture could not really change to make Methane emissions reduction an integral part of it. A very powerful #Turnaround that was validated by many attendees is that this has already happened when these organizations created a #SafetyCulture, so it can be replicated! How was a #SafetyCulture created? By consistently and persistently creating visibility around the topic of Safety, measuring KPIs around it, having a "safety moment" at the beginning of every meeting, having safety goals embedded in everyone's performance review, etc. This has already been done and can be done again! This is a classic Mindset "upgrade" that can be utilized for your performance or for an organization's transformation goal: you choose!

The Eliminate-Reduce-Raise-Create (ERRC) Grid is an essential tool of blue ocean strategy developed by Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne. It is a simple matrix-like tool that drives companies to focus simultaneously on eliminating and reducing, as well as raising and creating while unlocking a new blue ocean. 🌊 ELIMINATE: Which factors that the industry has long competed on should be eliminated? 🌊 RAISE: Which factors should be raised well above the industry’s standard? 🌊 REDUCE: Which factors should be raised well below the industry’s standard? 🌊CREATE: Which factors should be created that the industry has never offered? The ERRC Grid is easily understood by managers at any level, creating a high degree of engagement in its application. Start using it with your organization today! 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 #blueoceanstrategy #blueoceanshift #blueocean #strategy #businessthinking #businessthoughts #businesssucces

I help sustainability-minded manufacturers position themselves as the industry leaders they know they can be | Consultant | Author | Speaker
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that many companies are building products and services that have a positive impact on our society. Some are directly saving lives through their medical devices and procedures. Others are indirectly saving lives by removing pollutants from air, water, or soil. Others are helping industries transition away from fossil fuels. Many companies provide meaningful, well-paying jobs to people in their communities. This is all encouraging. I feel like I am doing good when I amplify the messages of manufacturers who believe that making a positive difference in the world is a top priority. The bad news is that your company will not save the world. Neither will mine. That does not mean you should stop doing excellent work. It just means that saying your products and services will save the world is greenwashing. Rather than boasting about your environmental credentials or exaggerating them, share specifics. How are you reducing greenhouse gas emissions, waste, or toxic chemicals, and by how much? What more do you plan to do in the coming years? What support do you need from suppliers and customers to achieve your goals? Sharing the specifics will help increase transparency and trust. Hearing positive stories, tempered by the reality of the challenges we all face, will inspire others to do their part. Small steps can add up. What steps are you taking? I invite you to reply in the comments or DM me, and let’s start the conversation.

EV’s emit less carbon. When I plug in at a charging station though, how was that power produced? Then there’s the process around battery production… Our two organic lawnmowers don’t burn fossil fuels though, so surely I’m winning here? Nope - they’ll fart out methane occasionally (and spit!). How’s my carbon footprint overall then? Ethical and ‘green’ investing in real life, just like in markets, can be full of contradictions and nuance. #esg #ethical #investing #ev
