Thank you Andras for brillantely moderating this panel and also the speakers. Great food for the thoughts
May I share my thoughts
- I shall speak more of edutainment than Hospitality
- Missing audience. The number of people Visitng museums is not increasing and is relatively low compared to the other leisures industry
So it is important to try to reach new audiences by creating new points of accessibility and experiences especially immersive ones. The video gamers community is 3 billion people and some of them may be interested to have simultaneously a gamer and an art experience. Our video game called The Forgetter which shows works of the collection was nominated to several prize especially as the best indie game of the year 2021 by Tencent.
- Creating more immersive experiences and not only traditional contemplation exhibitions
- Going out of the walls
The words: “digital”, “ social networks” , “communicating”were not even mentioned one time is the conversation. Can you resonate with your time without these tools? All the more it will become more and more important to be accessible physically, digitally and virtually. Dslcollection is creating in 3D all its sculptures and installations. It means that we will be ready in the future to be present in all types of social, immersive, platforms like Meta or Apple.
At this moment with our Anasea project, the collection is visible on all types of digital and vr tools and it can be visited simultaneously by nearly 30 persons using their avatars. we organising guided visits from people from all over the world
- Art has became the ultimate luxury good and museums should also look on how the luxury industry is adapting to our new world ( web3.0, metaverse, video games, vr, Ar, AI and naturally hospitality.
- Staffing: What is today the part of the staff dedicated to the digital, to the communication? What about their budgets?
- on social networks museums should be actively present by giving food for the thoughts and showing a singular posture
- Business model: very few museums cover their overheads with just their activities because contrary to the music, films, books industries there are not digital revenues
- Creating museums: I love the ideas of not focussing on the building and having a great goal, concentrating on practical things, having a mission statement but also Being relevant is also abo clearly fixing metrics of success
By the way, Unfortunately I do not think that Palais de Tokyo: the biggest art space in Europe which is visited by only by something like 200.000 persons is at the moment a good example.

In two weeks, from May 22-24, I have the honor of presenting with a great group of scholars at this impressive conference in Copenhagen on a timely topic:
Alcina Cortez from Lisbon, Eric de Visscher from Paris, and Gabriele Rossi Rognoni from London will join me in presenting four case studies and discussing the transformative and highly dynamic demands of sound in museums:
How is practice-based research and creative production changing the form and purpose of today's music museums?
How can acoustic scenography serve to guide visitors and provide access to an exhibition?
How do non-acoustic exhibits engage visitors' sonic imaginations?
How do you introduce "other voices" through the use of sound, transforming yourself into a "resonant museum?
*
The entire conference program looks impressive - and if you are interested in discussing and developing ideas for the future of art museums, you should join us and contribute to questions such as
How can museums become critical, relevant, and meaningful actors in their communities?
How can we diversify knowledge, historical analysis, and creative thinking?
How do artistic practices navigate, challenge, and transform institutional infrastructures?
How can we rethink knowledge production in the art museums of the future?

This is just the beginning of Augmented Reality ; soon it will be more than just a screen, as some professionals suggest that there will be a day when people will feel what they touch on screen.
Just look at it; it seems like a reality, but actually it is not.

This kind of AR would also be amazing for immersive history lessons. Making it interactive would take it to another level.
How fun would it be to have conversations with your favorite historical figure? Learning would be so engaging. No boring facts and figures for rote memorization.
You learn by living it!

Check the length of your email announcements or newsletters before you send them. That goes for artists, galleries, and even museums. The longer they are, the fewer people will read them from beginning to end. And the less they read, the more they'll miss. A great way to check length is to see how long they are printed out. You'd be surprised how many turn out to be ten pages long or more. Keep it brief, concise, and to the point. People are way too busy to spend many pages worth of time on you.
