The QM marketing team put together this beautiful footage of our now open ‘Secrets’ exhibition.
The stories behind these objects of intrigue are so well witten which is a reflection of the skill of our curators. Being able to craft balanced text that doesn’t overwhelm the objects or visitors is such an important part of creating an engaging exhibition.
And as labels take up space, I’ll often have discussions early on with curators and graphic designers about label sizes, word counts, font size and position of labels in the gallery.
We also discuss QR codes because they free up space. But people come to museums to get away from their phones and see tangible objects in physical space, and QR codes take people back to their phones.
What do you think about text in Museums?
We’ve unveiled Secrets: Objects of Intrigue. This exhibition rewards those who linger for a closer look.
This free exhibition is open daily on Level 2, Queensland Museum Kurilpa. Uncover more 👉bit.ly/SecretsQMK
