Good evening everyone! This is for my fellow Talent Acquisition/ Recruiters who are like me, somewhat desperately looking for our next W2 adventure or our next contract. I highly recommend checking each of these out and messaging the recruiter. Why? Well this week was proof to me that I needed to do that more. Maybe it was a coincidence but likely not. You see, like you I applied to 10-20 jobs a day. I haven't been getting any interviews the past 3 weeks really. I tried to dismiss it as companies were bombarded with applicants. Then a bunch of rejections started coming into my inbox, want to talk about discouraging. So, this past Monday I decided to conduct an experiment. I chose 5 of the applications/job postings I thought I was a great fit for. I messaged each of the recruiters letting them know I applied, why I thought I was a great fit and what my availability was for an interview. I also made it sound urgent to speak with them or to set up an interview because my schedule filled up quickly. GUESS what happened? Out of the 5 recruiters I messaged, 4 of them reached out back to me and we scheduled interviews. the 5th one has ghosted me so far. Not bad that 4 of them set up interview dates and times with me, 3 of them being this past week and 1 being next week. All 3 of those are now in the process of scheduling 2nd interviews. After weeks of no interviews I felt like I had finally made progress. I know so many of us are suffering financially and mentally. We need some luck and skill to get us through these tough times. So, this coming week I will do the same thing I did this week..I will message the recruiter with the same information as I did this week, except I am going to do it with EVERY job application I do. My hypothesis is I will see similar results. we shall see. I will publish my findings to this experiment on Friday night of next week. I know I will be on here way before then, so I will try to keep you posted. In all honesty, I probably should have been doing this all along but I hate cover letters. As a recruiter and hiring manager, I never read them if they were submitted. I never had the time to. 1) As a hiring manager or recruiter, how many of you read a cover letter if it is submitted? 2) As a candidate/job seeker, how many of you message the recruiter introducing yourself and why you think you would be a great fit for the position (aka-- a brief cover letter)? 3) What type of response did you get from the recruiter/ hiring manager? I knew something needed to change in my job search. So, I just changed one variable and I am extremely excited now that I did. Put your answers and stories in the comment section below. If you agree it's a good idea to do this and you don't want to share your story, simply type "cover letter" in the comments. We want to hear your advice on this. Thanks Everyone!

HIRING! Yes I have been trying to hire. I am looking for a suitable candidate for the post of the PRINCIPAL of ADHARSHILA HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL (www.adharshila.org.in). The school is situated in a remote village and serves one of the most underprivileged communities, free of cost. The post is still vacant after advertising on all sorts of platforms, both free and paid, and interviewing numerous candidates. The applicants are of found to be of 2 types. One, the urban educationist who have tons of experience as heads of educational institutions and second, social workers who have no experience of running a school. The latter we cannot hire while the former almost always decline. We can't 'afford' them despite the offer being handsome by the industry standards. So, definitely, we are looking at the wrong place. What mistakes are we making? There are millions of people looking for a job. How do we seek the right ones out? Any suggestions?

⚠️IMPORTANT NOTICE Better Choice Staffing has been a recent target of numerous scams via social media, predominantly Facebook, in which our information and photos are being used in fraudulent accounts. The accounts are contacting individuals to falsely advertise positions our agency is hiring for. We urge job seekers to use caution and verify job postings by contacting us directly at (250) 590- 5120. For your online safety: Please look for signs of fraudulent accounts by checking the dates of posts and if friends are listed. Recent fake job postings have included claims of no experience necessary, fully remote work, and suitability for “housewives” and specific demographics. Communications exhibited overly casual language and frequent spelling/grammatical errors. Please also note, that we are not recruiting or hiring for positions outside of British Columbia.
