Ever wonder what makes a Compliance Officer not just good, but exceptional? 🌟 ✨ A stellar Compliance Officer does more than tick boxes: - They're crafting policies, not just following them. 📜 - Risk? They're two steps ahead, already assessing it. 🔍 - Their secret weapon? Empowering employees through education. 📚 - Communication isn't just a skill, it's their superpower. 💬 - They're the vigilant guardians of the Compliance program. 👀 - Inspections? They're on it, ensuring everything's up to snuff. 🕵️♂️ - Team player? Absolutely. They're in the trenches with every department. 🤝 - A learning mindset? Non-stop. 🚀 But here's the kicker, what catapults a Compliance Officer from good to great? 🚀 They're not just reactive; they're proactively spotting and thwarting risks before they even surface. Tuned into the ever-changing landscape of risks and threats, adapting swiftly. Masters of communication, but it's their empathy that shines, truly understanding people's needs. A leader? More than that. They're the one everyone's inspired to follow. 🧭 Their moral compass? Unwavering. Ethical values aren't just words; they're actions. 🤗 Approachable by everyone, from the interns to the CEO. 📈 Committed to growing, not just in their role but personally. Do you think these qualities set the bar for an exceptional Compliance Officer? What's your take on the leap from good to exceptional in the world of compliance? Share your thoughts! 👇🔥

Offering bespoke compliance advice, support and training for financial services businesses 💰 I Co-Founder of Kana Consult I Compliance leader/SMF16/ Director 💼
Creating a successful compliance team starts with your job descriptions. Here’s why 👇🏼 You need to make it clear what you need people to do from the offset. I’ve seen this happen way too many times… - Businesses put out vague job descriptions. - They expect compliance professionals to be able to do it all. - The job isn’t what the candidate expected and they leave the business. If you want a compliance professional to: - Help build your governance, make sure that's in the job description. - Create risk frameworks, make sure that's in the job description. - Deal with complaints, make sure that's in the job description. And if you go through recruiters, make sure you make it clear to them what you need your compliance professionals to do. It will make your life easier and set up your compliance function for success.

Dear Compliance Officers, 🤔 Earlier on, I felt like my job was to just maintain the status quo. 💡But now, I have discovered that the best compliance teams 💪 are those who question the status quo and keep improving on ways to secure and ensure the going concern of the organization through improved compliance risk management and #ConnectedCompliance by carrying everybody along, even getting the C-Suite to take the lead with compliance communication and trainings. How do you innovate ? 🎤 Technology acquisition or process improvements? 🎤 Failing forward via integrated compliance and ethics or blame game in siloed departments and subcultures? 🎤 Updating compliance risk register or CONSTANT communication across the business on emerging regulatory risks? Have a great week!
