We can prove from first-principles physics, that the *only way* to measure true blood pressure (no references, no inference learning -- human or machine, no calibration) is with Resonance Sonamanometry. We measure blood pressure at 100Hz (10x faster than the maximal rate of change of physiology -- and well above the required Nyquist Rate of sampling), and from this waveform can trivially derive other metrics (e.g. respiration, pulse, etc). The device in the paper is from 2022 -- here is what the newer, wearable version looks like. 🌟 Exciting Developments in Smart Health! 🌟   Recent strides in electrocardiogram (ECG) diagnosis have fuelled the need for smarter, wearable solutions. The latest research done in Prof. Atif Shamim’s group at KAUST unveils groundbreaking advancements in this field.   Introducing fully screen-printed, gentle-to-skin wet ECG electrodes integrated with scaled-down PCBs in 3D-printed antenna-on-packages (AoP), these electrodes significantly reduce metal and gel usage while extending wireless communication range. Plus, they demonstrate remarkable accuracy in recording ECG data, aligning closely with commercial systems.   Shamim’s study, validated by cardiology and family medicine experts, confirms their efficacy for both monitoring and diagnostic purposes. Single-LiDAR-based approach for human pose and shape estimation in large-scale free environments, overcoming the limitations of light conditions and wearable devices. It utilizes a distillation mechanism and temporal-spatial feature interaction optimizer to address occlusion and noise. Additionally, a significant multi-person human motion dataset, FreeMotion, is proposed to support in-the-wild human pose and shape (HPS) research.
