I knew this was going to happen. I predicted it. Whenever government tries to take over a private industry, it becomes a DISASTER. Just another ill conceived socialist program, that has been even more poorly executed. Who in their right mind thought we could bring $100 per day costs down to $10 for parents, and why should we? Here is how we fix it. First, SCRAP the $10/day child care program. Second, increase the child care deductions to $500 per week and index it. Third, bring back a tax credit for children, to reflect the actual costs of raising them. Fourth, amend the Child Benefit and give it only to those who really need it. And Finally, create a Loan program to build child care facilties at schools, social clubs, community centres and churches. Let's build 500,000 new spaces in underused facilties that will help the entire community. https://lnkd.in/gw94B47U

"If you are like many churches, from time to time you will be faced with the dilemma of not having enough childcare workers, so you involve teens from your youth group to help. Or perhaps your interest is to simply provide opportunities to involve youth in the ministry." Take a look at this article to look at important things to consider when it comes to minors volunteering in your church's nursery: https://lnkd.in/g494c83M

Before you enrol, you’ll likely be made aware of: Commitment to minimum hours: centres typically want your child to attend for three days a week at a minimum. If a child only attends one day a week, it can be difficult for the child to settle in, plus it’s hard for the centre to fill up the spaces on the other days. Additional regular costs: centres that provide extra services such as lunch or laundry service for reusable nappies typically charge for this Enrolment fees: this is usually a one-off non-refundable fee to confirm your child’s place.

Mainspring Schools was founded in 1941 as a Works Progress Administration project. We understand the transformative power of public investment in infrastructure. Like roads, bridges, highways, and hospitals, the #earlyeducation eco-system connects and supports the whole community. Today, over 5000 children are on a 2-3 year waitlist for Workforce childcare subsidies, which hits low- and moderate-income families the hardest. Without affordable, accessible early education, caregivers can not go back to school or work. And children do not get critical high-quality, play-based learning environments that are foundational to success in school and life. At Mainspring, 75% of families receive subsidies; 30% live below the federal poverty guidelines; 20% are residents of public housing. On Friday, our class of Shining Stars graduate #ReadyforKindergarten. Today, we are so grateful that #TravisCounty Commissioners voted unanimously for the Travis County CARES referendum, which will fund #earlyeducation and #childcare programs like ours. #WeBuildBrains #nonprofit #publicinvestment #education https://lnkd.in/gP9QdfM2

The Albanese Labour Government has committed $1.47 billion to revolutionise early education and childcare across the country. This comprehensive plan includes expanding services in underserved areas, guaranteeing three days of subsidised early education per week from 2026, and supporting non-profit providers. This initiative will greatly benefit families, particularly women balancing work and study, by improving accessibility, affordability, and workforce support. #EarlyEducation #ChildcareReforms #AlbaneseLaborGovernment
