The Power of Transferable Skills: Why My CNA 2 Experience Matters Beyond Healthcare As I continue to grow in my career, I often hear people say to leave behind past roles or experiences that don’t directly align with a new job or field. But I disagree—especially when it comes to my experience as a CNA 2 (Certified Nursing Assistant) since 2013. The skills I honed in healthcare have shaped who I am as a professional and are more transferable than many might realize. From developing strong communication skills with patients and families to managing high-pressure situations and working as part of a team, these experiences provide me with a unique perspective that adds value in any workplace. Here’s why: 1. Empathy & Communication- Working in healthcare taught me the importance of listening and communicating clearly, especially in challenging or emotional situations. 2. Problem-Solving Under Pressure – When lives are on the line, quick thinking and adapting to changing circumstances are crucial skills that apply to nearly any field. 3. Teamwork & Collaboration – Whether working with other healthcare professionals or coordinating patient care, being able to work with diverse teams is a skill that is essential everywhere. 4. Resilience & Compassion – Handling difficult or stressful situations with grace is a quality that benefits any industry, whether it's supporting a team, customer service, or project management. I encourage others to reflect on the value of their unique backgrounds, even if they seem unrelated to their current career path. Your experience has shaped you, and those qualities can be applied in more ways than you might think. Don’t underestimate the power of transferable skills—they often offer a fresh perspective that’s exactly what an organization needs. #TransferableSkills #HealthcareExperience #CareerGrowth #CNA #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerJourney

Along with all the previous demands made by the resident doctors’ associations, these demand(s) should be made with priority. >FIXED HOURS OF DUTIES FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS (DOCTORS including Interns, Post Graduate Trainees, Junior Residents, Senior Residents, Professors, NURSES and all other associated persons). >Max 48 hours of work per week. >No more than 12 hours of work at a single shift. >Post Night Off for a whole day(24 hours) >Complete 1 day off in a week. >If at all anyone is made to do duties exceeding the 48 hours limit, in case of staff shortage or in place of someone on leave, a compensatory off must be given or at all if compensatory off is not being possible, a monetary compensation of 1 day full salary should be given. >In cases of on-calls, where senior doctors need to attend beyond opd hours, respective compensation should be made. Disclaimer: Being in the medical field, practising medicine since the past 2 years, I completely find it stupid and horrible to put someone to work 24-36-48 hours, sometimes even 72 hours shift. A human brain cannot work smoothly for such long hours without rest. Errors are bound to happen. I hope everyone in this respected group agree with this. 🙏 🕯️ #SaveTheDoctors #SaveTheHealthCareProfessionals #rgkarmedicalcollege #worstworkculture #WasteWorkCulture

So happy for one of my nurses getting a new role abroad!! Got this really sweet message from her, which really got me thinking about the importance of good customer and candidate service. Their experience with you - especially as an umbrella company can actually make such a difference to how they feel about their role. If they have unreliable umbrella, that they do not hear from regularly, with no main point of contact, late payments, missed payments and general lack of care - this will have a negative affect on how they feel about their role and thier work as well as feeling a lack of appreciation. I personally make sure not one single worker goes without : - point of contact / account manager for every single worker. - speedy on time payments. - advances in case things go wrong. - transparency and information where needed. - 24 hours service due to the nature of healthcare industry. - 7 days a week payroll. If you need a reliable umbrella that genuinely cares about your candidates - drop me a message!

Choosing the right job offer can be a tough decision, especially in skilled nursing. Here are some considerations to keep in mind: First, evaluate the work environment. Is the facility well-staffed and equipped? Is the facility overly dependent on agency support to fill out the schedule? A supportive and resourceful environment can make a significant difference in your daily work life. Look for places that prioritize patient care and employee well-being. Consider the facility's recent survey history. Is the opportunity worth any probable regulatory risk? Evaluate how well the facility's leadership values mesh with your personal values. Next, consider career growth opportunities. Does the organization offer professional development programs? Opportunities for advancement are crucial for long-term career satisfaction. Make sure the employer invests in their staff through training and mentorship programs. Lastly, assess the benefits package. Beyond salary, look at health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits. A comprehensive benefits package can greatly enhance your overall quality of life. What factors do you prioritize when evaluating job offers? Share your thoughts in the comments. #HealthcareJobs #NursingCareers #JobSearchTips

🌟 From Nursing Dreams to HR Passion 🌟 Growing up, I always wanted to be a nurse. The idea of helping and caring for people was deeply ingrained in me. But as life unfolded, I found myself on a different path, one that led me to the world of Human Resources. Little did I know, this field would become my true calling. 🔹 The Turning Point: Initially, my heart was set on nursing. However, as I started exploring different career opportunities, I discovered that my passion for helping others extended beyond the healthcare setting. I realized that I could make a significant impact by supporting and developing people within organizations. 🔹 My WHY in HR: • People First: Just like in nursing, my focus in HR is on the well-being of individuals. I strive to create environments where employees feel valued and supported. • Growth and Development: I am dedicated to helping employees reach their full potential through training, mentorship, and career development programs. • Building Strong Teams: I love fostering a collaborative and positive workplace culture where everyone can thrive and contribute to the company’s success. 💡 What I’ve Learned: • Empathy and Compassion: Skills essential in nursing are equally valuable in HR. Understanding and addressing employees’ needs and concerns is at the heart of my work. • Adaptability: Both fields require the ability to adapt and respond to changing situations, ensuring the best outcomes for those we serve. • Making a Difference: Whether it’s through improving employee satisfaction or driving organizational success, the impact I can make in HR is incredibly rewarding. #HR #CareerJourney #FindYourWhy #ProfessionalGrowth #PeopleFirst #Leadership #CareerDevelopment #Inspiration

Promotions for contracted staff are a thing?! So many people assume that temporary contracts lack the career progression that is offered in permanent positions. I understand the logic. Why invest in someone that will inevitably leave? I challenge that thinking with 2 points: 1) Temporary staff are brought in to solve a set a challenges that align to their key skills. If that staff has greater potential to solve even more crucial challenges by taking more responsibility, why wouldn't you want to access that? 2) There is never a guarantee for permanent or temporary staff to stay with you. The best way to retain staff that I have experienced is by aligning their goals with what the company wants to achieve. An example of this working in Aged Care; I recently had a good client of ours that operates a small regional facility approve a promotion for a nurse. The benefit for the client was gaining a leader that can implement clinical processes to improve the standard of care, while already being a trusted member of the team. We knew this would align with our Nurse's career aspirations due to the relationship we built over the last 9 months in her contract. What are your thoughts on promotions for contractors?
