A 66-year-old female patient presented with a history spanning three years, experiencing obstructed defecation due to a significant ventral rectocele and rectal intussusception. Despite employing conservative treatments such as fiber-based laxatives, dietary adjustments, pelvic floor exercises, and biofeedback therapy, there was no success in alleviating the condition. Following joint consultation by the pelvic floor multidisciplinary team (MDT) and considering a concomitant descent of the pelvic floor by 7 cm below the pubococcygeal line (PCL), a recommendation was made for a laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy (LVMR). The procedure was performed using #ArtiSential -assisted LVMR, employing ArtiSential monopolar scissors and bipolar forceps. Notably, the operation proceeded without any intraoperative complications, with a duration of 119 minutes. The patient's postoperative recovery was smooth, leading to discharge on the third day after the surgery. https://lnkd.in/envHr9cB benefits of articulated instrumentation were particularly evident during intricate dissections within the rectovaginal space, a typically challenging aspect when using conventional laparoscopic instruments.
