What are your thoughts?
An interesting article by Emily Hamilton highlighting Houston's "relative affordability" for "median income" residents. According to the author, "the best way to improve housing affordability and housing quality for households that cannot afford adequate market-rate housing is with housing vouchers or other forms of income assistance targeted to the renter households most in need," while the worst way, in her opinion is with programs like "inclusionary zoning." What's your take on this? While I know Houston is often lauded as "the most affordable city for housing" across the country (especially compared to my home state of California), as someone who has lived here for eight years, it feels like that title is slipping from our grasp. I agree that housing vouchers are essential, but what other things could we do to ensure people aren't being priced out of their communities? ...community land trusts come to mind... https://lnkd.in/gA97BRjQ

Myths‼️: Fair housing laws only apply to renters: 🚫 Fair housing laws apply not only to renters but also to a broad range of housing-related activities, including buying, selling, financing, advertising, and the provision of brokerage services.
