One step closer to finalizing the NCFP!
I'm back from a two-day workshop at the JIBC campus in New Westminster where we continued development of the NCFP Education and Practice Guidance. The workshop was full of encouraging conversations, sharing of ideas, and a desire to push paramedic education beyond current practice. We look forward to sharing the draft guidance document with educators across Canada in coming weeks. Grateful to Becky Donelon and her team for hosting us, and this amazing group of educators from across Canada! It was a true pleasure to speak at the HMC (The Heads' Conference) for deputy heads on Monday. It brought together several areas of DEI leadership that I specifically enjoy: 1. Driving a strategic approach to DEI and inclusion 2. Articulating and responding to the real challenges and barriers to #racialinclusion in a general, sector-specific, and organisation-focused way 3. Demonstrating activity that responds to survey results and data 4. Reflecting on DEI trends and best practice I was invited by Yasmina Koné, from Hemisphere by Rare Recruitment to co-deliver this session on #RacialLiteracy #empathy and #belonging in education. This was a particular privilege as working alongside DEI focused organisations is important to me, and it was great to have the opportunity to share #bestpractice of this #partnership working, and to demonstrate the strategic thought and process behind selecting the Hemisphere training with the leaders in attendance. Within this session we explored the #challenge of seeking to address very specific racial inclusion challenges with generic resources. One of the highlights of the Hemisphere training (for staff and pupils) is that it is very specific and targeted- it utilises data, research-findings, and real-life insights and testimonials within the training. This provides an invaluable resource that supports learning and a move towards overall racial literacy for everyone, in a way designed to promote #cultureshift. #DEIleadership #Hemisphere #RacialInclusion #StrategicApproach https://lnkd.in/ex3MgkyR

Despite a new government initiative to make Austria more attractive to future doctors, a third of medical graduates in the country still do not work at local institutions. The scheme commits prospective medical specialists to work for a certain period in a designated federal state or at specific state institutions, such as the Ministry of the Interior, the Austrian Armed Forces, or the ÖGK. In return, participants receive a scholarship and a preferential advantage in the degree program entrance exam, which requires them to achieve only 75% of the necessary points. However, an ORF report reveals that only 49 of the 85 medical study places allocated for this model will be filled this winter semester. Why is that? Learn more 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/e6_URG-4
