IMBA Europe is tackling diversity in the cycling/mtb sector by walking the walk - or it is riding the ride? The #IMBASummit2024 will have 40% female speakers and panelists. Additionally, they have set an ambitious target of 30% female participation in the event (from 18% in previous years). Fantastic initiative by the team - Cathy Naveaux Thomas Larsen Schmidt Manon Carpenter Mark Torsius During the summit, we seek to have diverse voices and thoughts at every table throughout the program. Additionally, there will be a women`s only meeting in which to speak about challenges specific to the MTB sector and together, identify which issues we should focus on in the future. Why women only? To create a safe space in which to share and be heard. They can ask questions on any topic: from how the races are organized and the required equipment, to questions about the carbon footprint of the event! Not as sexy as an athlete on a cardboard bed 🫣🛏️ ……But let’s try for a useful post! 👩🏫 How on earth do I create a sustainable supply chain to meet my scope 3 net zero needs I hear you say? Ok…..maybe you didn’t ask….but all of our clients making net zero promises ALWAYS DO! This is how. Another example of how #paris2024 embedded sustainability into their operations was choosing suppliers with exemplary sustainability credentials. Duralock have been fully embracing the circular economy for years, turning waste plastic into fencing, preventing the need to cut down trees for timber fencing whilst also not adding more plastic the planet 🌍 (And recycled plastic fencing has a MUCH lower carbon footprint than any of the alternatives…..helping with your scope 3 emissions….)
