When we started on this journey a few years ago, we very quickly realized that this is not something that we can do alone. If we wanted to make real and sustainable change, if we really want to move the needle, we need to move ahead together as an industry. And with that in mind, we launched the Equal at Sea Conference in 2022. Since then, it’s been so encouraging to see the industry leaning in and really making progress on creating a more equitable ecosystem for women at sea. I really believe, this is not something that is a one-time effort, but we need to keep the efforts on, and the conversation going. We need to have the courage to continue, we need to do this collectively. And that’s why for Equal At Sea 2024, we chose the theme : Propelling Change Together #EqualAtSea #propellingchangetogether #DiversityAndInclusion #maritimeindustry #maersk #womenatsea

🤙 Check out page 4 in the Regenerative Agriculture Summit Series featuring Thea Gherdan on the foundation of AgriAlly - Women's Initiative & Podcast, as one of the initiatives meant to empower women within the agriculture space 🙌 Honored to contribute and propagate support for women in life sciences. Thank you, Regenerative Agriculture Summit Series for helping create ripples of impact! Alongside NaturaYuva, Heifer International, Meraki by Margreet Groot, CARE & PepsiCo Identified Problems: 👩🌾 Lack of Role Models & Mentorship: Women in agriculture may struggle to find visible role models and mentors, who can provide guidance, support, and inspiration as they navigate their careers and ventures 👩🎤 Underrepresentation of Women in Agriculture: Despite significant contributions, women's voices and perspectives in agriculture are yet to be reached at an equal level. This lack of representation hinders diversity, innovation, and progress within the industry, any industry for that matter, creating a blind spot in the success of the system 👐 Limited Access to Resources and Networks: Women in agriculture face barriers to accessing funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities, which can impede their professional growth and success 🕳 Knowledge Gaps & Information Silos: It’s imperative that critical insights, innovations, and best practices in agriculture reach beyond specific sectors or regions, dispersing silos and seizing opportunities for collaboration and learning 📜 Inequities in Policy and Regulation: Policies & regulations in the agricultural sector don’t adequately address the unique challenges and needs of women farmers, entrepreneurs, and professionals, leading to inequities and barriers for growth 💪 Limited Diversity in Leadership and Decision-Making: The lack of gender diversity in leadership positions and decision-making roles within agricultural organizations and institutions can perpetuate biases and hinder inclusive and equitable outcomes. #AgriAlly #AgriThea #AgTech #AgriTech #biotech #Agriculture #womeninagtech #womeninagriculture #womeninstem #sustainability #STEM #USPolicy #EUPolicy

Since we are huge fans of data polipedia.com.au - we know that slogans alone don't work. Invest in her needs to involve data. And here are some ideas we have been throwing around the polipedia.com.au office to get investment into women: -Would love for every VC to publish monthly how many deals have come through for women-led start-ups - Would love for the cheque size to be disclosed - Would love for blind pitching - we are often told that early stage investing is all about the Founders - and we also know that this does not work for women..because you know... Would love to see an intiative to see blind pitching where the gender and race of the pitch team are removed - Quotas - and don't @me about the meritocracy and other fantasies. I would love to see cheque/funding quotas applied to start-up funding. Women make up 51% of the population - funding needs to match that percentage and not hover around the 3% mark. #IWD #InvestinHer #StartUp Monica Bradley Ebony McKenna Anne-Marie Elias Mary-Anne Anderson Pam O'Connor Charity T. 🌍 Today, on International Women's Day, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the world. It's a day to honor the resilience, strength, and contributions of women in all spheres of life, from business and science to arts and social causes. 💡 This year, let's reflect on the progress made towards gender equality, while also acknowledging the challenges that remain. It's a reminder that our journey towards an inclusive world, where every woman and girl can realize their full potential, is ongoing. 🤝 I'm inspired by the collective action and advocacy seen across industries to dismantle barriers and foster a culture of equality and respect. It's through our shared efforts that we can accelerate progress towards gender parity. 👏 To all the women who are breaking stereotypes, challenging norms, and paving the way for future generations: your courage and leadership are transforming our world. And to the men who stand as allies: your support is crucial in driving change. 💖 Let's commit to lifting each other up, celebrating achievements, and working together towards a more equitable and just world. This International Women's Day, let's celebrate the incredible power of women in agriculture! As a fellow entrepreneur and sustainability strategist, I'm all about building a food system that's inclusive and THRIVING. That's why I wanted to share this insightful report. You'll see just how crucial women are to feeding our planet, even though they often face some pretty tough obstacles. From nurturing the land to driving innovation, women are hidden heroes of agriculture. But all too often, they don't have equal access to resources, education, mentoring, or even a say in the decisions that impact their work. This needs to change. Initiatives like CARE's Farmer Field and Business Schools and PepsiCo's She Feeds the World program are empowering women to be successful farmers, entrepreneurs, and agents of change. These programs are proving that investing in women is not just the right thing to do, it's smart economics! ...and just to remind us all that this is also about achieving multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)! SDG 2: Zero Hunger: Empowering women in agriculture directly contributes to ending hunger and achieving food security (SDG 2.1). Studies show that when women are involved in agriculture, yields increase by up to 30%! SDG 5: Gender Equality: Closing the gender gap in agriculture is critical for achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls (SDG 5.1). SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities: By giving women equal access to resources and opportunities, we can reduce inequalities within and among countries (SDG 10.1) We really need to work together to break down barriers and silos to unlock the full potential of women in agriculture. As a realistic dreamer and a doer, I envision a future where everyone has a seat at the table, and our food system is not just sustainable, but downright AMAZING! #IWD2024 #genderequality #agriculture #womenempowerment #sustainability #sdgs
