What is Airmanship? Airmanship is more than just flying, it's about making informed decisions, managing risks and maintaining situational awareness throughout the flight. The principles of airmanship are demonstrated when applying the knowledge of aviation to the act of flying. There are many ways to increase one's airmanship. Flying different aeroplanes, learning new techniques and humbling yourself is a great way to improve airmanship. Constantly refreshing yourself with knowledge is also essential to maintain and increase airmanship. Keeping yourself up to date on current and upcoming regulations or even your own aircraft's system is a must for all good pilots. Not everyone gets the same Training and sharing information has proven to be beneficial as flying with different people allows you to learn new techniques all the time.

Even though their duty is the main ingredient of maritime operations, maritime pilots are not as known as ship's master or chief engineer. This week, we are celebrating Maritime Pilots Week and honouring this valuable contribution to the industry.   During their voyages, vessels stop at numerous ports all over the world. Maritime pilotage involves providing vessels entering and departing harbours with local knowledge and competence. Pilots are in charge of manoeuvring ships safely. To securely navigate a ship, they embark and momentarily become a part of the crew. Our final core value: #Airmanship Airmanship is an old school aviation term and it means something different to every aviator. An old TRE of mine, Dave, in a very direct manner and with a very thick Australian accent, once read me the right act for taxiing half a metre off the taxiway centreline.... "Some poor soul has come out in the 50 deg heat and painted a bloody line for you to follow, the VERY least you can do is show them an ounce of respect and follow it".... It was more choice and more Australian than that, but you get the picture. To Dave, that was airmanship. The passengers didn't care, ATC didn't care, nobody cared (including the person that painted the line).... but Dave did.... and now I do too. With a heavy dose of Dave's influence, airmanship to me, is doing all of the little things right when nobody is looking. It's about taking pride in your work, taking ownership of whatever task is right in front of you and then being consistent with it day in and day out. These little things, the one percenters, are the fundamentals that make a person or a business stand out from the rest. It's why airmanship is a core value at Ecojet. Excited to Announce Completion of Aircraft Recovery Practical course hosted by RESQTES in Riga Airport (RIX) The course provides practical and knowledge, based on regulatory background and industry’s best practices, to recover a disabled Aircraft in a timely manner without causing secondary damage either on aircraft, airport facilities or personnel. As part of Emergency Response Plan, aircraft recovery is essential. The recovery process includes, survey, planning,recovery and reporting. These processes can drived safely when all involved parties such as authority investigators, airport authority, maintenance staff, fire fighter department.. etc cooperate together as team. The vedio shows different scenario of disabled aircraf and appropriate recovery response. Recovery process 1- Tethering 2-Leveling 3- Lifting 4- Moving the Aircraft

Questioning the collective mind … in aviation we speak about “airmanship”, defined as "Airmanship is the consistent use of good judgment and well-developed skills to accomplish flight objectives. This consistency is founded on a cornerstone of uncompromising flight discipline and is developed through systematic skill acquisition and proficiency. A high state of situational awareness completes the airmanship picture and is obtained through knowledge of one’s self, aircraft, environment, team and risk." It is a ceremonial practice commonly used in aviation to mark significant events. The gesture involves one or more fire trucks spraying arcs of water over an aircraft as it taxis on the runway, creating an archway for the aircraft to pass through Occasions for a Water Salute include inaugural flights, retirement of aircraft, final flights of pilots, VIP arrivals, and marking special occasions in aviation. The practice requires coordination between the airline, airport operations, and the fire department.
