What is Airmanship?
Airmanship is more than just flying, it's about making informed decisions, managing risks and maintaining situational awareness throughout the flight.
The principles of airmanship are demonstrated when applying the knowledge of aviation to the act of flying.
There are many ways to increase one's airmanship.
Flying different aeroplanes, learning new techniques and humbling yourself is a great way to improve airmanship.
Constantly refreshing yourself with knowledge is also essential to maintain and increase airmanship. Keeping yourself up to date on current and upcoming regulations or even your own aircraft's system is a must for all good pilots.
Not everyone gets the same Training and sharing information has proven to be beneficial as flying with different people allows you to learn new techniques all the time.

This post by Air New Zealand has me confused. Take 30 young aspiring pilots to the US, and then the Middle East, to fast track them into pilot jobs with the company. On the surface- fantastic.
But what about all the already trained commercial pilots? New Zealanders that made their own effort to get a commercial pilots license, at Air NZ endorsed flight schools nonetheless. Qualified commercial pilots, but then having no way to bridge the gap to meet Air NZ starting experience criteria?
For example: My son is a qualified commercial pilot, trained at an Air NZ endorsed flight school in NZ. And he has always, since he was young, wanted to fly with Air NZ. But there is no path from spending two years in training and flying 270 hours to actually getting a job with Air NZ.
Over $100k already spent, personally, in an Air NZ endorsed course. Now slowly trying to get hours up in brainless circles over Canterbury while working another job.
But now Air NZ wants to “fill it’s pilot shortage” by bypassing 100s of NZ pilots already qualified and instead support complete new starters on a fast-track-to-pilots program.
Wouldn’t it be cheaper, and more appropriate, to address the skills or hours bridge-to-work for the large number of already qualified NZ pilots first? The ones qualified from flight schools you endorsed? In limbo. Yet keen, and ready, for a job.
Both cheaper and fairer I would suggest.

What do you know about "Water Salute"
A water salute is a distinguished tradition in #aviation, symbolizing respect, honor, and celebration. It is a ceremonial practice commonly used in aviation to mark significant events. The gesture involves one or more fire trucks spraying arcs of water over an aircraft as it taxis on the runway, creating an archway for the aircraft to pass through
Occasions for a Water Salute include inaugural flights, retirement of aircraft, final flights of pilots, VIP arrivals, and marking special occasions in aviation. The practice requires coordination between the airline, airport operations, and the fire department. Fire trucks are positioned on either side of the taxiway or runway, spraying water to form an archway as the aircraft approaches, and the aircraft then taxis through the water arch
This ceremonial gesture adds a special touch to notable moments in air travel, making them even more memorable and honoring the events and individuals involved

Airplanes are a girl's best friend 🥰✈️ 💎
I never thought I would get so addicted to the sound of an engine, to the feeling of taking off the ground, navigating from place to place, communicating with ATC, and the satisfaction that comes from a well-done landing 🤩.
Learning to fly has been one of the greatest gifts I've received in my life.
Mastering this craft comes with hard work, blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of sacrifices, but it changes your life and your family life forever.
If you are passionate about aviation and thinking about becoming a pilot in 2024, my simple advice is to just do it!

[SECRET OR NOT SECRET?]
Like many programs, Air France KLM's Flying Blue program had a secret, unpublished top top tier status, Ultimate. "Had" because they have now decided to make it fully public.
Is this good or not? On one hand, it is more and more difficult to keep such levels secret with FlyerTalks etc. By publishing it, the program takes back the control of communication.
On the other side, you take out the mystery of the offer and you empower members to make a clear rational decision whether it is worth to make the stretch from the official top tier level to that secret level.
Only time will tell how this will work out for Flying Blue, but maybe the latter point will hit them: Can you really motivate people to go from 300 XP on any SkyTeam carrier (Platinum) with decent benefits to 900 XP (only on AF/KL) for some not so impressive additional benefits?
Any thoughts?

WYVERN’s Flight Leader Program, the world’s first and most effective progressive aviation safety program, was designed to elevate beyond traditional safety methods and present a progressive way for operators to achieve Wingman and Wingman PRO certification. At its heart, the Flight Leader Program is about culture, professionalism, and human performance at your operation and in the industry. The program’s focus includes a high degree of emphasis on human and organizational factors – frequently overlooked aspects of the safety ecosystem cited as contributing or causal in 80% of serious incidents/accidents.
Through the Flight Leader Program, operators are offered a collaborative approach to safety, where they work with a WYVERN coach on a quarterly basis other than focus on common challenges that operators face, avoid pitfalls that might otherwise go unrecognized, focus on areas that need improvement, and help map out a pathway to safety excellence for your organization.
