A little #socialscience humor. But more seriously, Is it time to dust off or revisit #Maslow and his #hierarchyofneeds in terms of how we treat people with #compassion and #empathy when they are ill? We can go all the way back to the #Hippocraticoath. First, do no harm. More on this important topic in upcoming posts as it relates to my recent #livedexperience as a patient of our healthcare system. In the meantime, here are some criticisms of Maslow’s theory: https://lnkd.in/gj4SZBeZ #primumnonnocere #firstpersonpatient #weareallpatients #socialandbehavioralscience

This year's World MS Day theme, 'Your MS Diagnosis,' resonates deeply with the challenges faced by individuals and families affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS). 🌍 Navigating life with MS is an unpredictable journey, filled with invisible symptoms that can strike at any moment. The path to diagnosis is often long and uncertain, impacting not just the patient but their entire support system. For my children, witnessing their mother’s struggles without fully understanding the cause was particularly heart-wrenching. MS affects everyone involved, altering lives in profound ways. On this May 30th, World MS Day, let's come together to raise awareness, foster understanding, and support those who are living with this condition every day. #WorldMSDay #MSAwareness #Support"
