Integrating additional cleaning elements, such as magnets, into a pig will significantly enhance the pipeline cleaning process. It is common for pipelines to be cleaned without the use of magnets, leading to the assumption of a clean line when no debris is retrieved. However, the presence of ferrous debris becomes evident only when an In-Line Inspection (ILI) tool is used. As ferrous metal can compromise an ILI survey, pipeline operators must use a cleaning pig equipped with magnets to ensure the complete removal of ferrous material. Our proactive approach ensures that the best recommendations are implemented from the outset, guaranteeing optimal cleaning results with each pig pass. #pipelineintegrity #pigging #pipeline #oilandgas #pipelinemaintenance

Ellingson-DTD crews installed two blind, (single entry) horizontal air sparge wells at a former compressor station. Both wells started on the location; one well was terminated offsite under an active roadway and the second well was installed entirely on the site. Three-inch, high density polyethene (HDPE) well screen (Air Diffusion Systems) and casing were utilized for the well materials. The average well length is 283’ with 130’ of screen installed in each well. The formation at the site includes compacted sand/silt, clay and coal. Biopolymer drilling fluid was utilized for the drilling and well installation operation and well development consisted of fresh water and enzyme flushing and jetting followed by pumping to remove residual water. #horizontalenvironmental #contamination #groundwater

Magnetic Crawler Surveys are becoming a critical component of holistic inspection services, offering a unique solution for evaluating hard to reach areas. Equipped with magnetic wheels, these crawlers adhere to the inner surface of metallic surfaces, particularly effective for inspecting ferrous pipelines. This feature offers stability and precise maneuverability, making them invaluable in industries such as oil & gas where metallic pipelines are prevalent. What magnetic crawlers can detect: ➡️ Material Thickness: Assess the remaining wall thickness of equipment to predict its lifespan and schedule maintenance. ➡️ Corrosion: Identify areas of corrosion that may compromise the structural integrity of the equipment. ➡️ Cracks and Defects: Detect surface and subsurface cracks, ensuring early intervention before they lead to failure. ➡️ Weld Quality: Inspect welds for potential weaknesses or defects that could impact the performance and safety of the equipment. In industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing, and Power Generation, maintaining the integrity of storage tanks, pipelines, and other critical infrastructure is paramount. Magnetic Crawler Surveys enable precise, efficient, and safe inspections, minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with stringent safety regulations. LESS AIR AND AIR/FOAM TECHNIQUE AS REMEDY TO BOREHOLE INSTABILITY . During air drilling, the high energy velocity can be a problem to the borehole stabilization. To contain this high velocity energy, less air approach and air/foam modification are used. . FOAM & MODIFIED FOAM APPROACH . For cuttings experiencing difficulty getting to the surface, the foam and modified drilling method do not rely only air to lift drill cuttings. The approach involves injecting a foaming agent into the stream to create foam alongside shaving cream. Here small and strong bubbles are active to float drill cuttings. The drill cuttings are floated by the bubbles structure and remove from the borehole by the upward movement of the foam column. The foam column helps support the borehole and allows for drilling in less stable geologic environment than straight drilling. Foam drilling allows drillings to progress in event of groundwater infiltration of the wellbore. . APPLICATION & OPERATION . The foaming agent is diluted in water before injecting into the air stream. The foam concentration should range from 1/6% to 2% by volume, with the case of ½% to 2% foaming agent. And the velocity of the foaming should be 200ft/min to 400ft/min to remove the cuttings from the hole. . METHOD OF AIR APPLICATION . The reduction of air velocity, is achieve by reducing the air volume outfit from the compressor, which can be achieve through the drillers console or by plumbing a bypass valve into the line. . https://lnkd.in/dsNfi5qR . # airdrilling #airfamdrilling #airfoamdrillingapplication
