**FAQ: What maintenance does my solar installation need in Year 1?** We offer 1 year of free maintenance because all solar systems require upkeep to ensure optimal efficiency, maximum savings, and to protect the longevity of your investment. Here’s what’s involved: Connections to PV modules must be checked to prevent issues like water lodging in connectors, which can cause arcs and fires. Roof mounting systems need inspection to ensure they’re secure and panels haven’t shifted due to wind. DC cables should be examined for damage from mounting edges. PV panels must be checked for soiling and damage from falling objects. Cable entrances into attics need assessment, and inverters should be updated annually. Batteries require programming for seasonal use, and performance reports should be generated to monitor PV panel efficiency. Regular maintenance is key to safeguarding your investment and ensuring your solar system performs at its best. 🌞🔧 Keeping Your Solar PV Systems Safe with Insulation Resistance Measurements! Hey LinkedIn fam, ever wondered just how vital insulation is for your solar panels? Damaged insulation isn't just a nuisance—it can lead to power loss, equipment overheating, or even fires! That's why regular insulation inspections are a MUST to ensure all parts of your solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are in tip-top shape, preventing any nasty electrical shocks or short circuits. ⚡ Did you know? Ground leaks are one of the most common issues in solar installations, and finding the culprit can be quite the detective work! 🕵️♂️ Luckily, the IEC62446-1 standard has got our backs with two trusty methods for measuring insulation resistance in solar PV systems: 1. Short the positive and negative electrodes of the PV string and measure the insulation resistance between the shorting point and the earth. 2. Measure the insulation resistance between the positive electrode and earth AND between the negative electrode and earth separately without shorting. Let’s keep our solar systems shining bright and safe! ☀️🔍 💬 Like, comment, and share your thoughts or experiences with insulation checks!
