We had the pleasure of being a community sponsor for the 3rd Annual NAYGN Charity Golf Classic. They raised over $35,000 for local Ohio charities. Props to Vistra Corp. for putting on a fantastic event, glad we could be a part of an amazing cause!

"For charities, it is important to drive supporters to their own websites as direct donations are 28% higher than those through consumer giving platforms. Given the current economic environment it is important for charities to focus on driving direct donations." - Donor Pulse Summer 2024

I work with charities, academies and not-for-profit entities, advising on aspects of accounting and compliance, and managing audit and assurance services. I am also Lovewell Blake's student mentor for AAT, ACCA & ICAEW.
I'm always being asked questions by prospective not-for-profit clients about which structure is right for them. There are many advantages to going down the CIO route but there are plenty of other factors to consider - some of which I outline in this article.
The new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) structure has brought new choices for charities. Rebecca Frost of Lovewell Blake’s Charities team explores whether your organisation should consider this route.

Those of you who know us, know how much we rate Trybooking UK and the team behind it. So much so, that they have been a recommended, 'Go To', associate partner in the Hospitality Partnership since we changed the business model in 2021 to offer a host of different expert resource on a flexible and 'as needed' basis.
This testimonial from the CEO Liz Stewart of Scotland's Garden Scheme, just dropped, and it shows how effective the Trybooking UK platform is for event and ticket sales.
But the platform offers so much more, even seating/table plans, menu choices and dietary notes, takes payment, sends itineraries etc. And guess what it's totally free to use for non-charged events and more competitive than many other platforms for charged events, oh and you only get charged on each ticket sold, so no risk or financial outlay.
Is it important for you to work with UK businesses, then yep, TryBooking are here in the UK not North America.
An amazing team to help and support you, lead by Joan Lind if needed.
Give it a go, honestly, you'll wish you had moved sooner :-)

Chief Executive at Scotland's Gardens Scheme MInstF (Cert)
Huge thanks to Joan Lind and her fab team at Trybooking UK for managing our ticket sales for The Garden of Cosmic Speculation this week, raising funds for Maggie's Centres and Scotland’s Gardens Scheme charities. Sold out in well under 24 hours and we really appreciated their help and advice along the way. Great service!

Super proud of an incredible achievement by my team 🤗🤗🤗
If anyone said being a sole practitioner you cannot pack a punch, well this says it all!
My aim was to be the highest donating firm this year. Why? Why not.
In a highly competitive market, everyone is so driven by chargeable hours and standing out to gain £££s for their firms. I get that on every level.
However, supporting such Schemes does not mean quality of advice has to suffer. Nor does it mean it takes away time from paid work. If anything, it's getting people on that first step of talking about important matters and at the same time doing something good: donating to great causes!
I'm an ambassador for sole practitioners out there. I went solo to help individuals, break from the norm and stand out. Think my team and I just proved that we can.
