Long term growth plans in place needing an aspiring Director

Ms. Shambhavi Gupta, What I am concerned about is that CTC's have still not evolved with the times. Even today, I see several job posts with budgeted salaries as low as Rs. 3.5 lakhs per annum, and this is not just confined to freshers or entry level management personnel.   Such ridiculously low salaries (completely out-of-touch with the current times) would have made sense 21 years back when I started my career (way back in 2002), but definitely not in the year 2023. Do our young workforce, and even the not-so young professionals, who have spent years working, not deserve better salaries which can take care of much more than their basic living expenses?   Job descriptions are generally filled with a laundry list of various roles and responsibilities, but why is there no mention of meaningful and rewarding salaries? It is time indeed to introspect for organisations in general, and not just the big firms or big banks or global organisations.   The same goes for all content creators, especially those who are a part of the freelance ecosystem out there, and we deserve to be duly compensated for our efforts, as, at the end of the day, we all have to pay rentals, taxes, bills, et al.   Take my own field of creative writing and copywriting, for example. If you are reasonably good in your writing skills and bring at least a few years of experience to the table, do not settle for low prices like Re. 1/- per word or Rs. 2/- per word - it clearly implies that the prospective client is totally out of touch with the current remuneration trends or is simply interested in recruiting talent at the lowest possible cost - you need to be particularly careful of such people.   I agree that career is not just about making money, however, the importance of money can never be overemphasized; there is a need to be realistic rather than idealistic.   To put it in a nutshell:   - Stay down-to-earth but articulate or convey your expectations clearly. Do not settle for anything less than the value you bring to the table.   - Stay humble but maintain your high ethical and moral work standards. Learn to politely say "No" to anyone who is not willing to pay a fair price for your services and skillsets. Do not let anyone take undue advantage of you or take you for granted.   - Be patient. If you have the right skills, talents, and expertise, there will always be a willing buyer who can compensate you well for your services. The universe has its own way of rewarding you. Keep the faith alive.   - Negotiate well with your prospective employer/client and showcase your body of work to justify your monetary expectations.
