I know this is frustrating, but if a recruiter says they want someone with 12+ years in reservoir and production, they mean it. More than likely, you won’t be able to convince them to consider you if you ONLY have reservoir experience. Yes, I know it’s annoying. But they work for companies, not people. Sometimes they won’t even share a job description, just a general overview of the job. The key to gaining traction is to outline your EXACT fit for the role. So, if you have a combination of reservoir and production in your career history, skip the generic top summary and include something like this at the top of your resume: ▶️ Reservoir Engineering: 12+ years of leveraging classical reservoir engineering methods / tools like X, Y, and Z to deliver (provide an example with quantifiable data here). You can also add the names of the companies you worked for and the years in parentheses at the end of the sentence. Do the exact same thing for your production experience in the second bullet point! A bonus is tailoring your content to align with the exact BASIN experience they’re looking for. Hope you’re having a great weekend, O&G friends! #oilgas #oilandgas #engineering #petroleum #jobseekers #energy #energystrong
