Alberta is ratcheting up its commitment to SMR's and that is a very positive development as it will in the future be the key to addressing the GHG emission impacts of oil sands and Alberta's power grid. 🔔 The Council has given the #MethaneRegulation the final green light. Eurogas welcomes in particular: ✅ the strong and transparent #MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) framework, and that this is built on OGMP 2.0. ✅ the more risk-based approach for #LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) by differentiating between the different types of components and parts of the value chain. ✅ the introduction of global monitoring tools to increase the transparency of methane emissions from imports. Of this, 802 kilometers is accounted for by #pipelines from 16 other potential #hydrogennetworkoperators (#distributionnetworkoperators ).” “The #corenetwork consists mainly of converted #naturalgaspipelines (approximately 60%), and the investment costs amount to €19.7 billion. 🚨 Consultation Open: European Network of Network Operators for Hydrogen (ENNOH) The consultation on the establishment of ENNOH is now open - stakeholders have until 21st October 2024 to provide their feedback. 🔗 You can participate in the consultation here: https://lnkd.in/d5dVnfaq. The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) will review and submit its opinion to the European Commission by 30th December 2024.
